Overhead camera view

How do you bring up the overhead 360 camera view while in Reverse? I find when trying to parallel park, that the overhead view is the best. But I cannot figure out how to bring up this camera view while in reverse.

Exactly. That triggers a pre-selected action on the screen, which is to toggle between rear camera and bird's eye.

Was You mean this view , right ?

I find it more useful too . I tried to attain the button to the fav numeric buttons between 1-8 but no success

Sometimes it picks up a different angle or angles then I choose the R at the top and check / uncheck it using the i-Drive knob then this view comes on

Yep. I learned this 4 months in lol

I did parallel parking in front of a outside patio/bar. Took me 5 tries. I was a little embarrassed to get out. It could of been useful!

The only drawbacks I find with it are: (i) It's not super-precise. It seems to overestimate the size of the car a bit, which may be a safety feature, given that the screen is quite small. (ii) Not really useful in garages and similar situations where the walls and floor are of the same color. Very hard to tell the difference, esp. with that extrapolation distortion on objects that are next to the car.

Yes, I notice that too . It's giving you way earlier warning but I also take it as a safety feature . I love the G11/12 BMW 7 Series' 360 degree angle view , you can even zoom in / out . It would be very cool yet useful for BMW i8 too . May be I am asking too much ?
My biggest concern is the clipping the my car right front tire or bumper cover against the rear left of other car during parking maneuver . In such tight areas , this overhead view is very useful .
