Tire Wear

At 9,000 great miles on the i8 and see that the rear tires (original Bridgestone potenza) are completely shot--particularly the right rear. Fronts are still OK. This is a 2015, love the car, but this seems early to lose a pair of non-track tires? Anyone else see this kind of tire wear?

I got about 12,000 miles from the rears and 15,000 from my first set of fronts. The second set made it to 28,000.

I find the left rear wears the most.

I'm now running 255-35/19 Fronts and 275-35/19 Rears. The handling has been transformed. I'll write a report on my driving impressions.

Yes. They look great and the handling is unreal!! No rubbing. No issues whatsoever. This is how the car should have come from the factory.

Interesting

If you can fit better tyres on the standard wheels, it becomes a viable option for all of us

Seems a huge step up from the originals though:
front 215/45
rear 245/40

Wait you have stock 19" wheels? Huh thought he two wheel options were both 20". I have the twist wheels. I guess the non-twist wheels are 19's???

No, they are both 20. I have the non-twist. I was confused about this as well. I don't know how you can run 10"+ wide tires on 7.5" wheels, let alone R19.

Looks like were not going to get 5000 from our rears - anyone else using any other tyres that last longer?
