Should I be worried?

Recently (three weeks back) I bought a 2018 LCI just before the lock-down. Am loving the individual colour, extra range, the laser lights and central screen interface. All good so far...

Then this morning, Autocar wrote an article on the end of i8 production:

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/f...ld-bmw-had-die

Interesting article that I read but halfway though I was amazed to see a photo of the car that I just bought featured within. Look at the link and my car is the Donington Grey Coupe. Well, that got my attention so I searched more and found this next link where Autocar tested the car as the "face-lifted model" in 2018.

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review...2018-uk-review

So it looks like, unbeknownst to me, I bought an ex press car! Not really sure how I feel about it!! Has it been abused, launched, thrashed, ragged.... who knows!! At least I have some good photos of the car.

No one said it was a press car - it was sold as an ex demonstrator, one previous owner car but I am thinking now that it's had more drivers than Tiger Woods? Should I be pushing for an extended warranty or what?

Push for extra warranty. I did and got it on a 69 plate roadster.

Man thats a bummer. I'd not be happy at all that wasn't declared to you. I'd definitely go back to the dealer and give them merry hell! Good luck!!

in that autocar article - towards the end, it talks of depreciation and shows the copper i8 roadster and the wording -

2019 i8 Roadster - £76,000, 5 miles: Proportionally, Roadsters lose even more money than coupés in their first year.

where is this 5 miles 2019 Roadster for £76k? - who is selling it/

Go into any BMW garage, they have access to a number of pre delivery cars. I was looking at a second hand Roadster and the dealer found a copper one on the system with minimal mileage for £72k.

I don't think launched starts are possible in the program during break-in.
IMO the i8 is pretty difficult to abuse.

Congrats and enjoy.

It’s a stunning I8 coupe. I was close to buying this car from the chap who sold it to the dealer.

What was their name. It’s just that they had a private plate that was still on the car when I went to pick it up... one of many problems that day from Styner BMW Leicester!!

PM me?
