i3 window regulator water damage, driver's window malfunction
My 2015 i3 REX's driver's window is not functioning correctly. I took it to my dealer who could not fix it by reinitializing the window. They recommended that I replace the window regulator. It would have cost me $1200 to do with them. So I took it to an independent BMW specialist who did the repair for $800. When they took the door apart, they noticed corrosion in the wiring connector to the window regulator. They tried to wrap it with tape to prevent water intrusion.
For a little while, the repair seemed to work and the window functioned properly. But the malfunction in the window is happening again. The independent shop looked at it. They took the door apart and found the harness corroded again. See pics below. Who has this experience? Was there a fix to prevent water from entering the harness that seems to be causing the window malfunction? |

This is the first i3 window regulator problem that I've seen posted.
Can they spray the connector with some contact cleaner or dielectric grease to keep the water out?????
