Unable to open passenger door

Help - I can’t open my passenger door!

When pressing the remote the door popper goes up and down as expected, but when you pull the handle (from inside or outside) the door doesn’t open.

When you’re sat inside:
- if the car is unlocked and you pull the handle, there is no resistance and it doesn’t open
- if the car is locked and you pull the handle, there is initially resistance but then nothing

My fear is that someone will need to take the outside door skin off to investigate. From what I’ve read you can’t do that without taking the external door handle off, which you can only do with the door open!!

Any thoughts/suggestions much appreciated!
