Listen, from a city block away, you CANNOT tell who is in any given vehicle. You would be hard pressed to determine who's behind the wheel of a vehicle 200-300 feet away. If you sit here and tell me you can I'm going to call you a fibber, especially if there is any tint on the vehicle. I shoot LIDAR all day and I can barely tell who is driving a vehicle until they are close to me. So I go back to my initial point……


….I pull over the vehicle that stands out to me. Just because one is a sedan and the other might be an SUV doesn't mean I'll automatically default to the SUV because it's larger/heavier.

If someone's stupid enough to alight from their vehicle and leave their key fob inside the car for it to be taken by a hoodie and never recovered then I don't think insurance will cover whatever the indemnity.

Yes & no. There was a McLaren driver operating his vehicle at a high rate of speed. I wanted to check out the vehicle AND tell him to slow it down, so I conducted a traffic stop…..

This happens more often than you realize. People leave their cars running and get out to pump gas or go into the gas station convenience store and get carjacked or have their cars stolen.

We (LEO) could careless what the color of the vehicle and like you mentioned we cannot profile. The most stolen vehicles I encounter the most are 1990's Honda Civic so guess what, Dispatch clear for a roller? lol

I'm more familiar with speed traps on parkways, which is more of what I was describing.
And of course, nothing is automatic.

Loved the police today. Driving home from golf. I'm on a windy road sorta in town but few side streets and traffic always drives too fast there. I am doing probably 50 in a 35 zone. I am in the fast lane passing a car doing 45 and a Fiat pulls up following like he has ants in his pants. Well I'll pull over after I pass cause I'm not a jerk. But wait.

Suddenly a Ford sedan of some kind passes the Fiat on the right and squeezes in between us. I mean he was right on my bumper. I am not happy as I am still driving a brand new car on the original tank of gas the dealer put in. But I stay cool and finish passing the car on my right planning to move over. This isn't good enough for Mr. Ford and he zooms around between me and the car I passed and zooms off. My passenger says something like never a cop when you want one.

Or is there. Up ahead I see a large black un-marked SUV with a large floodlight on passenger mirror and lots of antennas. He pulls out behind the raging Ford. Pulls up behind as the Ford sorta stops at a stop sign and lights him up. Awwwww. Somebody gonna get cited.
