Suspension upgrade on the "later" cars?
Read somewhere (think it was a comparison test in Car Magazine,UK), that the suspension in general now was better (more settled?), than the early cars produced in the first months after the launch last year..
Anyone tried "both" cars, and what is (if this is the case) Your experience with this..? Any better? Thanks, |

I'm not sure if there were any improvements made to the suspension between the two model years. Perhaps it could have been the switch in tires. Specifically, the 2014 model I tried out came with run flat tires which made for a stiffer ride, even when driven in comfort mode. The 2015 model delivered to me came with nitrogen filled tires, which demonstrated a discernibly softer ride. As far as handling, I didn't notice much difference between the two model years.

I haven't driven an i8 other than my Jan 15 production one but I feel the ride is better than magazines and reviews describe it. There is some harshness at low speeds but nothing out of the ordinary for a sports car. But on the highway its got wonderful body control and rides very well. This is coming from someone who drives drives an S550 as a second car. |
