It's the PASSing lane, not the 'fast' lane. If everyone kept to the right lanes according to their relative speeds and only move to the left temporarily when passing, we wouldn't have as many road rage incidents.

That was entertaining to watch. Accord got what he deserved for his efforts. Icing on the cake would have been if the truck had flipped in the ditch and both parties would have got what they deserved.

You need to just relax - if someone is ripping up the left lane and I happen to be in it, even if there is a car in front of me that I'm trying to get around, better believe I'm moving out of the way and letting Mr. Fast & Furious tailgate the car in front of me instead.

There's 2 things (among many others) that drivers commonly don't understand and it drives me nuts (although not as nuts as the Accord driver).

- Left lane is for passing only. If you're not actively passing someone, get your ass into the right lane.
- People don't get the concept of zipper merge. I HATE when drivers will purposely close off access into the merging lane because they think you "skipped" the line by merging in right before your lane ends.

Ya, some ITT aren't much better either. Basically saying cuz the truck brake checked, the Accord can go offroading and go climb a mtn! I.e. he has no fault even though he almost sideswiped the truck/carcam dude and can do whatever to pass them! 2 wrongs definitely don't make a right, esp when the Accord was sinning way before meeting Mr Truck.

I was thinking originally it was 80, but yes Palisades does seem to be correct. Seems like we would always end up at that mall when it was snowing. Which has no relevance to anything except reminiscing

I think there's plenty of blame to go around, the driver of the Accord was aggressive and provoked the truck driver to react aggressively. Shouldn't the truck have stopped once they saw the accident? I was also waiting for the commentator to say something like, "Comrade, you just caused an accident don't flee the scene or the KGB will certainly find you".

Don't say things like this then. What that truck did was the cause of the accident and he could have involved innocent people by trying to be a vigilante controlling someone else's speed. If he doesn't do any of that, the Accord passes and everyone goes about their day.

IIRC, the law states that regardless of your speed, if you are in the passing lane and another vehicle wants to pass, you must speed up or slow down and let them pass. Intentionally blocking someone if the first place would be illegal, and then speeding up to block them from passing would further the issue.

IMO the truck is to blame as much as the car. But if you're the type of person that uses your car to force people to slow down, or to be where you want them to be on the highway, then I guess you wouldn't see it that way.

I feel like if this was done to you, you might have a different opinion.

They are both idiots, but the truck driver is the biggest idiot. If he would've just moved over and not block the Honda the way he did, the Honda driver probably wouldn't crash.
I never understood the mentality of people like that truck driver. The Honda driver wants to drive like an idiot, then just move out of the way and let him go, it's not like you're gaining anything by holding him back. If anything you're doing more harm than good, and that's what happened.

Truck driver is at fault for dangerous driving chiefly for intensifying the situation, accord driver was pushing trying to get past and failed to use mirror to check where truck was so he can only be charged with careless driving.

I will say that if I see that $hit going on in front of me - I back the hell off

the camera view is better since he stayed close, but he easily could have got caught up in that accident during one of the brake checks..

the truck driver is a dick for staying in the passing lane
the accord driver is a bigger dick for using the shoulder to pass
