Only shows 14 Miles on full charge

I finally received my I8 and have been enjoying it. I remember reading on the forums most would get around 21 miles on a full charge.

My car is only showing 14 miles fully charged. Is this normal?

We’ve discussed this in many other threads. If you stretch out your all electric driving you will start to get further distances. And I have been able to get 21.7 miles on electric only. Others have reported similar results. But it requires driving as if there is an egg between your shoe and the accelerator pedal.

Over a period of time the computer in the i8 runs algorithms computing and recomputing your electric range and your range for the ICE and the electric battery. Right now my i8 says my total range is 386, but that's because I’ve been driving it on trips of less than 14 miles in all electric. My electric range now shows 18 miles. Coasting down the mountain adjacent my house I’ve gotten the electric range up to 29 miles, which quickly faded when I began driving on the flat.

Quick answer: What you're reporting is normal. You have to work the car to get really good all electric range.

My i8 had an electric charge of 22 miles when I first drove it off the dealer lot. Ended up getting between 14-15 mile charges with the regular power cord during the first week. Thereafter, ended up getting between 20-22 mile charges when either the ambient temperature was warm or when I immediately charged the i8 after driving for an extended period (more than 45 Min.).

I'm typically at 14mi with ambient temp of 23C or 74F. I think I may have seen it as high as 15mi.
