I appologise if this subject has been covered before but went through the first 9 pages and havent seen one.

I picked up a dock for my Samsung today (main dealer purchace not internet) plugged it in and expected it to work!!

Alas it didnt. So when I got home I looked for a connection...

I cannot find it Saw a couple of semi greyed out usb sources but nothing I could accsess

Where and how do I connect to the car?? Big bummer is I have to take gell case off too. Nothing is ever oh so easy

When I was researching the dock for iPhone I saw mentions that it works for power and external antenna but not audio source. So I just stuck with a short flexible USB cable for the USB dock. But I think your Samsung may be way too big?

Epirali. Phone fits dock perfectly. Just cant find interface

Have you received the correct dock? there should be two docks one for only Phone and charging, and one for phone charging and audio. Also depends on what options come with your I8 as to if audio will work with the dock.

I meant for the USB dock via cable, not the phone dock.

It mention the in car aerial and less emmission from blue tooth also better signal strength so I assume its the correct unit

Progress.

An icon of a phone cradle has come up on the screen. And after it saying reading for about an hour it now recognises my phone. I can play music, view videos and photos. But alas not the phone book

So using the dock enables you to play video on the main screen of the i8?

Yes. But I now have the answer.

The cradle works on two levels. You have to enable blue tooth for the phone book. But the cradle activates a hard link to the car aerial and allows media to be played via the screen. Video and audio. I can play films via the usb input too.



I had assumed (wrongly) That the cradle would do both jobs

Perfect do you have part number or pic of dock .Iv been trying to find a way to get video to play on screen from iPhone. Thanks

I played video today by placing the .mp4 and .m4v video files on a USB stick.

My test file was "Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol".

As far as I know " i phone" has issues with privacy. I am samsung. my phone shows images of contacts on screen my wife has i phone and it wont

Loving my i8 BTW
