Garage List
Drying with a cloth etc is most likely the time you will scratch or swirls so it's time to break out the leaf blower.

Do you think a 440 CFM blower will suffice?

Might have to go get a blower.

What about waxing though?

I have always used single use Meguiar's round wax sponges & have had not a single swirl, even when doing my black range rover and dark graphite 7 Series (two of them).

I'm on the fence between PPF and Ceramic Pro. Without the deep pockets, am weighing out the additional $$. You have a couple of months on the road have you noticed any nicks or chips? I more than likely will inherit the cleanup duties leaning towards the foam gun/blow dry method. Did you apply any PPF/Ceramic options?

Glass treatments?

I had my car ceramic coated ($1000) in May. We also did our Taycan and our son's new 228i. All look amazing (mostly), but the guy did my car in 90F and I told him it was not good in the hot sun.

When my i4 gets really hot (parked in the sun)...I can see some light spots and ceramic coating remnants on the hood that I am not too happy with. Once the car cools..the hood looks like glass. It is not bad, but I know it is there. He came back and made it better, but I would not do ceramic again most likely!

He did Diamond fusion coat our windshields on the i4, Taycan, 228i and our Defender. AMAZING. No rock chips and water just beads away!

I drive the highway/freeway/interstate 3-4 days a week, about 40 miles. I only have the tiniest of tiniest little chips on the hood from when a dump truck lost a big clump of mud/sand. It sounded like my car got sand blasted. I was freaking out!!!!! But, nothing on the front, headlights, buck teeth "grille"....just a super, tiny chip on the hood. i4 paint seems really good, and maybe the ceramic coating helped a bit.

I would NEVER spend the money for PPF. We keep cars 1-2 years tops!!

I read ceramic a bit more of challenge to remove/correct, interesting point you may not use again. In spite of out states "covered load" laws some construction vehicles enjoy finding their way ahead of other drivers, hit a bump and share some of their uncovered loads. Yep, I hate that sound. Will need to be more mindful increasing distances when they do that hopefully the regen learning curve will be helpful. Didn't like how the PPF showed up on a p/o 2021 M on the dealers lot, and don't have the budget. Will look at windshield treatment. Thanks
