LED Headlights swap to Laser Headlights, plug and play + coding?

Was wondering if anyone knows... If the LED Headlights we're swapped to the Laser Headlights, would they be plug and play + coding?

For production line purposes, I would think that the harness / plug(s) / connector(s) are the same on both of the headlights, but not 100% sure.

Any insight is much appreciated. TIA.

Did you already end up with an i4, or you considering getting one? I replied to you over on the i4 forum. Sorry, not sure the answer to your question, but lasers are a non-negotiable IMO

Have an e35 on order, currently in production. Laser headlights are a no brainer, but unfortunately not available on the e35 currently.

Glws on your i4.

From what I've been able to find out the modules are in the lights themselves so should be just plug in and code .... However .. it's so brutal expensive after market that I can't see why you would do it. A 1k option at production was like over 3500 aftermarket... If you find a cheaper option let me know. It's the one feature I didn't get and really wish I did

Yeah, I found the person/link to the retrofit. It's plug and play + coding.

Yes, the "ECU" are supposed to be on each of the headlights. That's why it's best to get headlights that are complete with all modules and ECUs intact.

I can't stand the Base LED Headlights, so will eventually do a retrofit.

So not sure how much I trust the descriptions on ali but I'm seeing headlight housing and modules but can't ascertain what features the modules have. Also curious as to if corning can be added just by changing the modules etc . I'm sure it's not that easy but here are some links I found... But they want 2400 for just the housing and the modules are another 200 but not sure if they are cornering etc then you likely still need an adaptive bulb assembly which god only knows how much .. I think it's a bit of a fools errand but maybe someone will figure it out. Maybe a junkyard will end up with something. I imagine the g22 lights fit so I'm hoping to find adaptive leds or lasers 2nd hand eventually

I picked up an i4 e40 for my mother last summer. It was "off-the-lot" and not a P1 order. It had the standard LEDs, and from having previous F30 service loaners with standard LED headlights, I was very skeptical.

That being said, I was happily surprised at how good the standard LEDs were on the G26 i4. Personally I always order my cars with top-spec headlights, but for her we didn't have the luxury of waiting for a P1 build as we had already waited 6 months for a G30 that never arrived to USA after build by the time we decided to switch to i4.

The LEDs are great headlights I just really love the cornering function especially on windy new England back roads ... I was sorta pissed that they did t make it more clear that standard LEDs no longer had this feature since I've had it on my 3 series on both of my x3 and both of our x5s would have gladly paid 1k to get the feature

its not brightness that's the issue, it's the swivel into the corners, even though it's brighter if it's pointing away from your turn it doesn't help

I know we covered this in an earlier thread, but my edrive 40 produced in August 22 has swiveling LED headlights. I feel lucky that I got them.

I would be curious to get pics of the lights, if you can get part numbers and pics of the modules etc. Maybe we can find them 3rd party
