Just asking as I don't know, but will the rigid cargo cover fit in the under floor storage? That's how it worked on my 330i GT. They had clever cutouts so it fit perfectly under the floor.

Nope, sadly not. And its a two part cover too so nowhere to store it other than in the trunk or on the rear seats. Not entirely sure why BMW decided on a rigid cover. Guess we'll never know.

Wow. Unfortunate. Perhaps they'll fix in the LCI or next version of the iX. Need all these teething pains to be worked out.

The rigid parcel shelf was a very conscious choice that BMW made. One of the reviewers in YouTube (maybe Doug DeMuro) explained that the rigid shelf made it a "trunk" (that's my technical term) and therefore they needed to add an emergency release in case you have mafia friends that make you ride in the trunk.

Ditto. There seems to be plenty of space under the cargo floor (or there could be), it's just ill-designed to do it. Unlike other parts of the car, it appears to be an engineering afterthought (Whoops! We forgot a cargo cover! Quick somebody, gimme a plastic shelf or something!)
