Got scammed by NOM3ERY/kevinm3

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY.
My experience from the M3 side
Long story short.
He had a full akra system for sale. I wanted the xpipe only, he threw out a price, I accepted, I paid, he acknowledged payment, he says he sent item but will not provide shipping info nor do I have it. From the day he said it was shipped I would of had it by now. I have all this on text by the way.

Communication was great up until I paid him then completely silent.
No response to calls, text or PM even though he was on here about 4 times yesterday. He sent pictures of item, been a member for 4 yrs and had positive feedback. Couple months ago he was working at dealership in Manhattan. Seemed to be straight up guy.
Doing a complaint with my CC company this afternoon if I have not heard from you by 4oclock today to either refund my money or provide shipping info. I will pass on all your info to the CC company also so they can give you a call.
Anyone in the NYC area that knows this guy be aware of your friends.
His number is 914-589-5933, name is Kevin
Yesterday he dropped the price on the akra system as if the xpipe was never sold.
Paypal has issued a claim against him.

If you didn't send the money through PayPal as a GIFT you're completely covered. F*ck people who scam their own community.

Yeah, as long as you didn't send the money as a gift you should be fine, doing so would be foolish. The only ramification will be the delay and frustration.

Like a dumb ass I sent as gift. Paypal says because there is evidence of goods transaction I am still covered. They said he has 10 days or he automatically loses the case. If that is the outcome then my CC will refund money because of his mis-usage of the system to barter goods. Luckily I put in the comment box when I sent the money that it was for goods and not good-will. Happy about that at least.

Wow. You're a lucky person. Usually PayPal automatically doesn't help in any way if money was sent as a gift.

I was told that entire function might go away because of this very reason. People getting scammed every day on the "Friends" transactions.

You should always send it as a service because you pay no fees. The seller pays all of the fees.

Just learn your lesson from this and I hope you end up winning this case!

I just bought wheels from him.. We were having issues through PayPal after I sent him the money as a gift so he sent it back and I sent it through moneygram. After that he also told me that he shipped the item but will not reply to my texts/calls after I asked for tracking.. I even talked to a few of his friends/people he sold to and they all said he's a great and trustworthy guy.. I have no idea what to do.

paypal will reimburse your money without even asking too many questions, the problem is when you sell and the buyer is just a piece of shit.

Why does he keep logging in and not responding to either of our PM's?.... Comeon man.. I heard from several people that you were a very trustworthy guy, cheating people out of there money is not the right way.

I don't understand why people send as gift. I'd say it's a scam right away if someone asked me to send money as gift unless it was family. Not much you can do now but wait and see what the CC company says and it sucks that this happened. Hopefully someone can find the guy or knows him outside the forums. GL!

This is very true for regular transactions, although probably not "gifts". PayPal is heavily bias in favor of the buyer. I got screwed selling a BBK years ago... when the buyer told PayPal there was one rotor missing out of the four in the kit (f and r) they refunded all his money without making him send the parts back...
