Report: The BMW i4 EV Will Be the Most Powerful 4-Series

According to the new Autoweek report, i4 will first come as a dual motor AWD version and and will be powered by an 80-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The dual motor i4 is expected to put down 523 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. Basically, a direct competitor to the Model 3 Performance. Can't wait to see the official release of this EV!

Absolutely. There was never any doubt. We've known this was going to be the case for about two years now.

The i4 M will have about 15 more hp than the M3/M4 Competition, and weigh in the neighborhood of 800 pounds more. So even when just considering straight line performance, the AWD 510hp ICE powered M models will bury it. Put them through some twisties and the differential will be even greater since even the i4 M will not have the G8x chassis setup and tuning.

Later, G8x CS and even CSL models will up the power to pass the i4 M launch model. However the i4 might also gain more power over its life, so it could be a bit of a chase game. In any case, the M3 and M4 will remain the highest performing models due to the lower weight and better chassis.

One thing is for sure, it will win the looks department by a mile over any Tesla. Well except, for the uber cool cyber truck but that’s not really its competitor.

Why even bother looking at design? Who buys this nonsense?
