Why is realoem.com not being updated?

We all know Realoem.com as a platform to find parts and information about our cars, but why has this platform not been updated for the last 5 months?

Last update was end of 2019, but so far no new updates... New models are not in it, new parts are not in it. Is this a BMW problem or simply thing of not providing the data out into the open anymore?

I mean, all these sites such as realoem.com, bimmercat.com likely get it illegally as BMW does not sell ETK to anybody, and there are torrent sites where you can download ETK from - with the latest version being 01/2020. Coincidence, I think not.

There used to be an official ETK on the German BMW site but it's been gone for the past several months. That one was, obviously, the most up-to-date. I think it was update weekly.

https://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-ersatzteile/ has got the newest cars and parts in it, incl. M2 CS.

Being able to research my own part numbers is a huge reason why I’m so willing to buy parts overseas. I couldn’t imagine trying to explain in Italian some of the stuff I need, but if I can just print a page and circle a number it makes things easier.

I use RealOEM fairly regularly, and was resigned to the likelihood it was never going to update beyond 12/2019 data.
But I was surprised and shocked in a good way to see that it has recently updated to 03/2025 data.

bmw stopped to provide the data as offline files
now only online, and therefore you need to have some sort of relations to buy access to bmw online and to get access to API and to integrate parts catalog to your site

I really despise BMW and the way it is going. Maybe I will have to ditch BMW down the line.

Lol you should be grateful for the readily and FREE information that we have available for most if not all BMWs ever produced. Either straight from BMW or fans worldwide. This is not as common with other premium brands.

Yeah and if BMW actively try to prevent that then I will kick rocks with the brand. That is one of the main reason I went BMW. I'm not going to be grateful for anything, I made my decision to purchase a BMW and give money to this brand based on that.

If for example they shut down REAL OEM the same way they shut down NewTIS.info I'm going to ditch it then.

5 years on and you'll still in a BMW? I wish this thread would "kick rocks" back to 2020.

I'm not the one that bumped it and since it was relevant I comment on it. What's wrong? I don't get your reply.
