Good look at ID 8 and how it works. I prefer 7. What do think?

Na, I like having my A/C buttons accessible and now that I've gotten used to the 8 programable buttons, which I thought I'd never use, I'd hate to have to go without them.

I wonder if this new screen collects finger prints like 7 does?

Looks a bit like that, right?
I also dont like that so much. And i wonder, if the sunlight will reflect too much and the screen is not good readable with direct sunlight...

I was able to play around with iDrive 8 and then go sit in a G80 immediately after and the iDrive 7 setup felt so small. This was in the iX so maybe for the G80 they'll add more physical controls?

This looks like a nice update. I would take it on my current 22 X3M40i. If the controller still controls everything, I dont mind losing a couple of buttons.

What do you have programmed? Just curious.

Agreed on having physical buttons though, some stuff should stay the same.

Besides less physical keys on the dashboard, I don't find many reasons to dislike iDrive8.

Mercedes MBUX is much more original and functional. After BMW 2018, this is left behind.

This is horrific. AC on screen is frustrating as hell. And no macro buttons is a major step back.

I'll never own a Tesla or a modern BMW for this reason. At least there are other options out there. But the industry trend is going all screen eventually. Pathetic.

Think about how many suckers don't realize this is all in the name of cost cutting. Having an Amazon Fire tablet glued on the dashboard running Android? They can keep it.

Looks cheap (because it is).

It's so keeping up with the Jones. I have driven Hondas for 20 years. My first BMW was uniquely impressive in so many ways. This is transparently a deviation to placate the masses. I get it but lament at the change.
