Not too shocking. Does the RS5 beat *anything* in its class, btw? I'm sure it does, but I tend to always see it in videos getting trounced.

Thanks for sharing!

Speak of the devil, this just popped up in my news feed. I guess now it will be able to compete with the A5 for $16k!

Would have thought the M50 would destroy the RS5. But then again when you factor in the 1100 lbs, its actually really impressive.

Love the Turbo Blue color on the RS5, same color as my TTRS.

Perfect example of BMW again underestimating its power (especially at the high end) vs. Tesla which overestimates its power.

Can't believe carwow still hasn't learned to invest in dragy or anything like that.

Or show SOC, trap speeds, or use an i4 M50 without the power sapping 20" 285 section tire option.

As long as you have good dry surface to launch on, I believe the 19" Option will yield better results. 11.9 May not have been at a high SOC? Here is a Dragy test on a fully charged i4 M50 with 19" Goodyear All Seasons. 11.60 Sec Qtr Mile:

I watched it sort of in disbelief because like anyone who already has their M50 I expected the RS5 to be walked in the 1/4 mile run and if this i4 had performed as it should then it would have which has me questioning the state of charge during the runs. For example AutoTop NL have tested the i4M50 and found it’s 100-200km/h run to be quicker than an RS6 never mind the slower RS5.

Also the rolling races where the RS5 was in auto mode none dynamic, was the i4 in it’s ECO Pro mode too, the acceleration would certainly give that impression to me.

Also the brake test was a bit odd when in the previous i4M50 comparison against the M3 it actually outperformed it in braking. I suppose it really depends on who is doing the braking and whether they hit that pedal at the same time which I doubt.

There are some glaring inconsistencies here. The i4 M50 drops about 67 hp around 117mph. That is unless you take off in launch control, then it holds the power all the way to the 140mph speed limit. Yet, the i4M50 seems to have kept up with the Audi in the roll on tests just as strongly as the quarter mile race. This makes me wonder if the driver even used launch control. A 67HP difference at 117mph should have kept the Audi from catching the i4 at the end of the quarter mile. Especially when the i40 was pretty even when not in launch control and with the 67hp taper at 117 mph. Also, as they approached 140mph, the Audi surely would catch the i4 just based on the i4 speed limiter.
At the very end of the video, it shows a quarter mile run with the i4 walking the RS4 all the way through the cones. What happened there? Was that a second qtr mile run they just decided to ignore?
