OEM Treadwear Warranty Turanza
According to Bridgestone this tire is supposed to have a 50k Treadwear Warranty... My e40 currently has 26k miles (new in Aug 22' winter tires on from nov-march) and I am at 3/32. Tbh I drive with a pretty light foot so I was expecting a lot better Treadwear. However I noticed in the fine print that Bridgestone won't warranty an OEM tire. There aren't many aftermarket 225/50/18 tires and I'm happy with the range I'm getting ... But not honoring the warranty gives me pause. Especially when I'm seeing 1/4 of the expected treadlife.

The OEM tire clause is normal across manufacturers, likely just due to the discounts they get in buying them.
Also, I'm guessing you're not able to rotate your tires; the treadwear warranty is typically cut in half when that's the case, so you're likely really looking at a 25k mile warranty. Is it are 3/32 across the board on all 4, or is in an not uniform? If it's not uniform, it's hard to get a warranty claim from a tire manufacturer as well. If you are you just talking about the insides of the rears or middles or something like that, that's fairly normal with the i4s (and most BMWs) due to the alignment and IMO higher than needed recommended pressures (which aides in efficiency ratings).

yup this is my 7th bimmer so understand the typical wear. It's also my 2nd ev so understand that variable also. I am 18's set up square rotated halfway through. Solid even wear, no cupping and actually the insides aren't terribly worn compared to some of my others. but overall 10K miles for non performance tires with a 50K mileage warranty seems pretty bad so not exactly thrilled to put another set on. Hearing okay things on pilot sport 4s. Pzero elecs I have to go to a wider 235 setup or I can simply go with P7 which were great wearing on my model s. Everything has a pro and a con, but in a perfect world I'd like to get something lasting 25K+ and not affecting the overall range and ride quality too much..... My winter tires were pretty good and didn't seem to do too bad for range (Mich XIce Snow) hardly wore and were really quiet, so I'm definitely leaning towards Michelin from that experience. Here is what Ive considered so far: Pilot Spot AS4 (comes in 225/50/18) Cinturato P7 AS (comes in 225/50/18) Pzero Elect (comes in 235/45/18) I've downloaded the bmw tire spec sheet from the forum, but found that it was euro spec and didn't have anything listed in the US Spec for 18" wheels. |

Sounds like you might've had a claim if it wasn't for it being the original tire at least. Definitely agree that if I'm only getting 10k miles, it better be a damn good performance tire that I could rely on for grip in those 10k miles.
I have the Goodyear Eagle Sport AS tires on my M50 now... not something I would have picked myself, but I have no real complaints. They've held their own aside from understandable loss in traction from a stop when they're cold. I probably would have went to the pilot sports next myself if it wasn't for me getting a flat and replacing my fronts a couple months ago. I'll last to the winter on my rears (which will be close to 20k), then probably just replace them with the same in the spring since I already did the fronts. It doesn't look like they make a size that would work for you anyway.

Funny!! My car only has less than 5k miles and my Michelin rears only have 5/32 left it would not even last 10k miles. I should be the one looking for warranty claim. 26k miles won’t even last on my previous ice car let alone EV. You should be grateful it has lasted that many miles.

Bridgestones are not designed for EV they’re not going to last 50k miles. They probably tested these on cars that are 1000lbs lighter than i4.

Not sure where you are getting your info, Bridgestone Turanza are ev spec tires. Issue isnt getting 50k it's getting less than 10. And for reference on my model s75 which is almost the same weight as my e40 I got about 35k miles on my p7's when I returned the lease they had 4/32 still. However the original OEM Goodyear that came on the Tesla similarly lasted 10k miles.

actually taking my previous comment back, the T005 that come stock on these cars are not the EV Version. The T005 that came in 2022 was just the quiet rack version, so slightly less disappointing but still not very inspiring considering my snow tires felt better than the bridgestones and they got under 10K miles.

Okay so after scouring reviews i've come to a few conclusions
Best Value (tire rack 2020 closeout) Pzer PZ4 $567 for all 4 even if they don't last thats about half price compared to the michelins. they seem to be a good mix of quiet, handling and comfort, with the only question mark being Wear. There will be a slight range penalty according to the rolling resistance numbers compared to the Turanza but likely still better than going to Pzero elects in a 235, 45 setup |

My original 8500 mile tires were Pzero PZ4 summer tires. If these new Goodyear A/S Eagles last twice as long, I will be very happy with them.
