Just went to the dealer for that cruise control fix. They installed the July update (07/2023.33). So far, do not see any difference from the March one. The only visible one is the bottom line on the main display with odometer/time/etc looks like it got bigger font. Easier to see now. The rest look all the same. Hope they got rid of my no OTA jinx.
The temperature on the entertainment display might be bigger too but I am not sure about that one.

The cruise control fix would’ve held up your OTA updates for sure. Thanks for sharing!

What was your vehicle’s production date? The previous notes stated it wasn’t going to work on vehicles built before November of last year, but I know for a fact that’s not entirely true.

I don’t know why I even care about battery preconditioning as I’ve never once used a public charger. 😂😂😂

Mine was November 2022. I forgot what day. I have not used a public charger yet either.

Vehicles built before November 2022 aren’t supposed to work with it. My production date was October 21. Go figure!

Didn't you get free EA charging for 2 years?

Of course. I’ve just never needed to use it.

I interpreted the question to mean (perhaps mistakenly) "Why don't you just drive down the road a mile or two. Or twenty. And hook up to a DC public charger, for FREE?" When you could alternatively charge at your convenience in your garage for a few cents. For which, of course, there is an unspoken answer. The free public charger thing, even when an owner is capable of charging at home, has been elsewhere discussed. I've always regarded BMW's free public charger incentive as something along the lines of what we referred to in my office when something was offered in addition to the primary deal as a "free" bonus to incentivize the deal - "free" toaster, "free" Ginzu knife, "free" timeshare . And generally was not very contributory if you gave it some thought. Something we came to refer to as "Free jelly beans for your monkey!"

I think I definitely provide a little color and entertainment around here.

First lesson to those that like to “modify/ruin” their vehicles: Don’t post pictures of your subpar custom work, or you just might get called out. If you’re going to do it anyway, please make sure your vehicle has been thoroughly washed and cleaned. 😂😂😂

According to the list of changes (https://www.******.com/attachments/p...mer-pdf.31863/), it looks like every IX with MGU21 (i.e. built pre March 2023) will get manual battery precondition. Previously, only those built after November 2022 have manual battery precondition.

Has anyone with build date before November 2022 received this update? Can you confirm if you do have this functionality now?

I believe deutsch100 got it without this update. His build was months before mine (10/22).

I got it post update, but only tried the preconditioning one time on my way home (for "fun", lol)...wasn't even going to "supercharge". All I noticed is that it uses a lot more battery %

Yes, my build is before Virtual Guitars. I think this is like the I have lavender interior lighting, I do not have lavender interior lighting. Makes zero sense and I find is very disturbing on BMW's part!

Awesome! Thanks for confirming @deutsch100! Regained a little faith in BMW's software engineering.

The heat has to come somewhere if the motor has not yet produced waste heat. Spending a few kwh of battery to speed up DCFC is worth it.

Here is what I got with that update. Being in South Florida, that does not look like the most important feature to me. I am also yet to use a DC charger in now 9 months of owhership.

I have a EA DC super charger 10 mins away at the Walmart supercenter. I go every two weeks for grocery shopping and free charging. BMW gave me 2 years of free charging on this bitch so my ass is going to use it.

Car had the all recalls completed today, it now has 07/2023.40 installed by the dealer.

I have never been able to remotely upgrade software on my M60 since purchased back in Jan. My mobile app still shows version 11/2022.44

Car has build date 5/22. And manual battery precondition is available in the charging screen.

And still NO lavender interior lighting However, I do have Digital Art showed up magically a few months back
