How many USB-C ports are in each back seat in a 2024 iX xDrive50? Some review videos show two and others show one. It looks as if 2023 had two and 2024 has one.

I've seen both - I assume there was a cost-cutting (or parts shortage) run of single ports, but I've also seen MY24 seats with both ports more recently, so I assumed they're back. Deletions may be announced, unannounced, and re-added at any time. Although, like any other feature, subject to the winds of chance, both BMW and the world. MY24 M60 review @CARBUZZ:

If we watch the same YouTube, Carbuzz only reviewed a MY22 iX and a MY23 iX M60. Am I missing something?

Nice catch! Found a person who's just received their car with the updated headrest (so, July+ build date), and still confirmed single ports.

Interesting that the URL above that lists 4 rear ports is called "24 II". It's possible they've just returned the feature, but more likely just forgot to update the page. I'm curious if there's an opportunity to push the dealer to upgrade the part to dual-port due to false advertising etc.

But again, features are added and deleted seemingly almost daily, unannounced. The fact that owner A got a particular feature doesn't mean owner B will receive it on his/her car the week after, because the ball moves too fast. There are documented MY24 cars with two ports, and cars with only one. My MY23 M60 has no interior camera. Identical MY23 M60s produced days after or days before had it. Really no way to tell until delivery, often even with a VIN check depending on the particular feature.

I see where you're coming from now. On the website, you'll see the same photos if you switch to 2022, 2023, and 2024 years. They didn't bother retesting it. If you head to their YouTube channel, you'll see that the actual car with white seats and blue seatbelts that they reviewed was a 2023 M60, which had quad rear ports as expected.

And looks like Kief took delivery on a MY24 iX50 recently, with single ports (build date not specified but perhaps will update). Which may not mean much regarding recent M60s, but is at least a data point.

To the OP's post, looks like majority consensus - right now - for MY24 iX xDrive 50s is a single USB C port in the rear of the front seats. But they still have (today) passenger lumbar/massage and hands-free tailgate opening, and an interior camera. And HU5 with Highway Assistant and v8.5 OS (a/o 07/23). But missing IAS and air suspension. BMW giveth and BMW taketh away....

Air suspension is available as an option for iX xDrive50 since a few weeks ago in the US.

I wonder what the max power output on the single USB-C ports is in the rear. On my 2023, the fronts do 15W, the rears do 45W, although since I only have a single tester, I don't know if the power is reduced when more than one port is used.

Until my recent purchase of a cigarette lighter USB-C adaptor, I ran a cable from the back seat to the front when I needed to charge my phone.

I believe the spec on USB ports has stayed the same: 15W fronts and 45W back ports. But given that BMW provides incorrect specs on the number of ports, I'm sure they could have messed up the power ratings as well
