Warranty coverage

I'm looking to lease purchase an i4M50 shortly. After reading up on it I think it'll be an awesome daily driver. While doing some research I learned that the dual motors ARE NOT brushless - BMW decided to forego the typical rare earth metal setup to be green friendly. Does anyone know if these brushes are warrantied along with the motors, or are they considered wear items like brake pads? Any idea of service intervals? The two dealers I asked had no idea.

The motors is expected to last 300000km or 182000miles. Your warranty will be well done wayyy before that. Also the brushes are designed to be a serviceable items. Technically, they should be inspected around 180K miles and replaced if necessary.

no problem and FWIW BMW has stated that they tested the motors to 1 million kms (620K miles) without issue.

Thats pretty remarkable. I always understood EV's to be durable...I wonder how those tests are performed under load, in real weather/driving conditions.
