iX steering wheel for M60

so after seeing some of the other posts and swaps from X1 M sport wheels was able to obtain the parts from a new i5 M60 and will be working on installing that this week. the nice thing is that the wheel is already the titanium bronze color so no painting is required. unfortunately all of the new 5 series wheels have some sort of paddle or button arrangement, including the new M5 wheel which oddly is available even though the car is not. will post the pictures below and show you my wheel and then pictures when it is installed.

and to answer the previous post about how long I plan on keeping the M60 probably until BMW release the new next gen iX5 and then maybe trading it in or keeping it till it doesnt run anymore. the first BMW I have bought in almost 15 years. all the others were leases

The left wheel with the boost paddle is the one I have in my possession. For you future M5 guys (me included) there is that wheel with M1 and M2 as well

Finally got it installed had to move the buttons over since we kept getting faults my iX has the driver assistance pro with the ada and the wheel didnt have the buttons with the led bar so it took a few hours to get it sorted. Now works perfectly and I love it. Wheel should have been standard on the iX M60

So amazing. Great job, love it!

I hate the stock steering wheel on the iX.

I have 3 iX pet peeves/dislikes/hates

1) Ugly steering wheel

2) No behind the knee seat extension. Not joking....a base 228i has better seats than the iX.

3) iX frame less doors sound more hollow and cheap than a early 1990s Hyundai!

Nicely done. Do you mind sharing a bit more details. What is part number for that wheel? Did you install yourself or at the shop? When you say button swap, you mean took buttons from original wheel and put in new one? Is that plug and play or require some soldering?

Done by the dealership. Original i5 M60 wheel part numbers at dealership. Yes we had to bring over the buttons from stock wheel as they have led light at the top for the drivers assistance pro package and the i5 wheel did not have the right buttons. No soldering control modules the same on all the wheels. Easy swap once we figured out what caused the fault. Otherwise yes plug and play and works beautifully. Can try to get you the part numbers. Have to ask my parts manager.

Yes, looks so much better than the standard wheel. Great job. BMW design team should take some cues from the users on this forum every now and then

Thanks, no rush, but if you will have time, would appreciate getting part numbers.

Did you have to purchase airbag separately or does the iX airbag work?

No the stock airbag fits and works or else you would be paying $1500 for one
