Apparently now available on v3.11.1 on the MyBMW app. The hangup is that it says it requires Android v14, which my phone (Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra) does not show as available yet (still on v13).

i have s22+ V13 with digital keys enabled. But, I do not see remote parking option in the app. Also, I suspect the car must have 8.5 OS in addition to Android requirements

Your MyBMW app needs to be version 3.11.1. The previous version (and all versions prior) v3.9.3 does not have this option. It has nothing to do with the car's OS for it to show up in the app. The requirement for Parking Assistant Pro for it to actually work, in addition to Android v14, are separate activation issues.

BMW must test the function on Pure Android Pixels. The same way they did for iPhone. Carrier unlocked Galaxy probably will get android OTA sooner than carrier locked ones.

IMHO: this option is for one time show only. I have it (with iPhone), used once. Too complicated, too slow and so on

I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and it does have Android V14. I haven't tried it yet but the BMW app says it is available to me now.

Totally. Fun party trick with almost no practical value.

Remote parking is useful to get in/out of car in a tight parking spot.

Tight parking spot it is, and limited utility there. Forward/reverse parking only (parallel parking is too complex here), parking yourself in a tight spot bordered by non-cars (if you park that close to someone's car, you are asking to be keyed or kicked), or extracting your car from a spot where someone else has blocked your driver's door while you were away, and you don't fancy clambering over the passenger's seat or rear hatch, or can't. I can honestly say that I've never had occasion or need to remotely drive my car in any of those situations. But it theoretically could happen, so that ability isn't unwelcome. Routinely parking in a garage otherwise too small to park and get out would be another scenario, but that would be even more rare, and something to be addressed another way IMO.

I wanted this feature so I can use when parking in my garage. Unfortunately, it really doesn't work when you have the standard size (9 ft width) garage door, the remote parking doesn't work. The recording cancels once the front of the car reaches the opening of the garage door and says pathway too narrow! Very disappointing.

Can I ask, in your case does the Saved Path Parking Asssistance feature work for you? Since it’s your home garage, and the parking location is the same everytime, I figure the Saved Recording Path should work for you successfully? If so, I’m wondering why a Recorded Path would work and the Remote Parking wouldn’t.

Yes. It already works on all recent iPhones. It’s being newly introduced now to more Android phones so that’s the big news now!
