Connecting to home wifi

We are in a fringe area for cellular connections and parking the iX indoors isn't helping with connectivity. I'd like to connect the car to my home wifi but cannot figure out how to do that. The Owners Manual only seems to show how to use the car as a hotspot.

Is that not a feature in BMW EVs the way it is in Tesla?

Thanks

I completed a 45 min R&D meeting with BMW last week. The main topic was i7, i5 and iX.

The first thing I complained about was no home or work WiFi connection, like Tesla has (and even Jaguar-Land Rover has this, JLR!!!! :-o )

The BMW Rep said this is in the top 5 complaints, but as of now....BMW has no plans to add WiFi connectivity. This stubbornness pisses me off honestly!

BMW needs to build a software development center in the Seattle or Bay Area and get over their idea of outsourcing development to Tata. Ever since BMW adopted iPods into their cars ~20 years ago my use case used to be to sync my iPod with Wifi at home to update my playlists. It's a shame they haven't expanded the vehicle-to-home Wifi capability into their cars.

It must be a German thing. Whenever I call about any of my Miele appliances they always approach the call from the POV that the user must be doing something wrong. Steve Jobs' "you're not holding it right" response that predated iPhone 4 antennagate was surely inspired by Germans. Tesla has done one thing beautifully right: Software. Everyone else just needs to emulate what they've done.

When I purchased my first BMW in Germany, a full new car inspection was required by the rep. After going over the car in detail, since I was used to doing a lot of the maintenance on my US cars, I asked where the oil cap was to change the oil (everything was covered by cowling and hoses). Fritz drew himself up to his full Teutonic height, straightened his vest and said "BAY EM VAY CHANGE ZA OIL!!"

Living in Deutschland for over a half-decade, my theory is the weather. Put Germans on the Costa del Sol, and they are the jolliest, most flexible souls you'd ever meet, and - literally - let it all hang out. Smothered in a tight-fitting wool pulli in the foothills of the Eiffels, surrounded by freezing fog in sunless gloom, not so much. The beer helps...

You should let them know that even Mercedes, their main rival, has this.

Mercedes has this in the USA, or is this for Canadian models?

I believe it is available for both US and Canadian models.
