Less than 1 year into my lease, at just 8k miles, both rear tires on my i4 35 are worn down to needing replacement. These OEM tires are Bridgestone Turanza T005 (225 50 r18).

I get that an EV is heavier, RWD, one-pedal, etc, but even so wasn't expecting to replace tires annually on a 10k lease.

I saw other threads where folks recommend replacements for fully-owned vehicles. Any tire suggestions for leased vehicles?

I would go with star marked tires. Who knows, maybe your next set till last for the remaining lease period?
I have Pirelli P Zero tires on mine and they have plenty of threads left after more than twice your driven distance.

It will be a good thing to have BMW approved tires when the lease ends.

Turanzas have terrible tread life.... That sounds about right... As far as for a leased vehicle they will ding you when you return it if you don't replace them with OEM tires.. so you are somewhat limited on your options. I would look for something with a 50k tread wear warranty so you won't have to deal with it again. I did mich ps4 AS... The range hit was horrible but they had a 45k tread warranty and were far superior to the turanzas in smooth, quiet and handling got a Costco deal

I expect 50k out of my fronts and 30K out of my rears. If not more. Currently at 21K miles on the Odo. This is with Pirelli original tires. Long mileage life. 500 treadwear. 19” all seasons. Bridgestones are 320 treadwear I think.

Just how bad was the hit to your efficiency (mi/kWh)?

So in the summer I would get fairly reliable 4-4.5 m/kwh.... With the as4 it was rare to get above 3.8 Ave was about 3.3. my snow tires performed better from a range stand point. It was shocking. I saw a list somewhere and they were on the bottom for range efficiency

I would put pirellis on. My xdrive gets better range with 19's on all season pzero than my e40 with 18" as4.

I swapped to Michelin PS4 AS as well.
Didn’t have a choice, car came with the Turanza summer and the temperature drops to as low as 30 in the winter, rendering the summer unusable.
There’s a ~10% drop in efficiency and the noise profile is different and more noticeable too

Hey guys, I just got a 2025 i4 xDrive40 and it came with summer tires. Looking to get all-seasons in the next 4-6 weeks before it starts snowing here in the US Midwest. Looks like some people recommend Michelins despite of the range drop. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Pirellis pzero all season. Or just run dedicated snows and keep your summers

I don't see those available in 18" size neither on Discount Tire or TireRack. I ran winter tire/wheel set on my i3 because of RWD, but don't want to deal with swapping for the i4 and the extra cost, plus it's AWD.
Any experience with Nokian One? They seem to have a low rolling resistance decent reviews, but wanted to see if someone had first hand experience with them here.

Good luck finding them in the US. You can fudge the sizes a bit. I got a great deal on my Michelin as 4 but they were terrible on range. My x40 is getting similar range on staggered 19's than my e40 did with 18s and the Michelins. My Michelin xice snows get better range than the AS4, not sure how that is possible ( although I did 225/45/18, so slightly smaller diameter but wider contact patch on the 8inch msw rims) If you have the 225/50/18 you can do p7 cinturato.... It's pricey at 300/tire but I've had those on my Tesla before and they lasted 30k no problem.

It looks like my current tires are run-flats, I'll probably stick with the runflats. P7s should be ok too I think. Thanks!

That's sorta strange.... Normally ev's dont come with runflats.... The extra weight zaps range

I guess I was wrong, mine are not run flats. I looked up Bridgestone Turanza T005 and they showed up as RFT on DiscountTire, but I can't seem to find the RFT logo on mine, so they must be just regular then. Looks like they make both version of this tire. Nokian One appear to have good reviews, supposed to have low rolling resistance too, but I can't find reviews for EVs.
