2026 iX LCI -- New Upgrades & Changes Info

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Upgraded (nothing major, still 400V) drivetrain. Some body rework will add 12mm to the overall length. The new lineup:
  • xDrive45: 400hp / 765Nm (same front motor now as the other models), battery increased to 96kWh usable, curb weight goes up to 2450kg (DIN. w/o driver)
  • xDrive60: 535hp / 765Nm, very close to the pre-LCI xDrive50, just a small bump in usable battery to 109.6kWh and -5kg weight
  • M70 xDrive: 650hp / 1015Nm, same 109.6kWh usable battery, loses 15kg compared to M60, 22" wheels becoming standard.
M Sport Package will become available on the lesser models. Adds Iconic Glow kidneys (of course), many new wheel choices.

Anything not mentioned here - likely not coming.

Paints I see: Alpine White, Sapphire Black, Carbon Black, Aventurin Red, Mineral White, Arctic Race Blue, Storm Bay, Dune Grey, Frozen Deep Grey, Dark Graphite, Tanzanite Blue.

I love Tanzanite Blue. Bummer that all US versions have the same torque. I was hoping that the +10 names would also mean torque bumps. Lame. And, +12mm length could mean restyled bumper skins.

Hoping for some more stylish 21” rim options!

I’m sure you will still be able to select 21s on the M70, similar to how you still can select them on the X7 M60 even though 22s are standard.

My math might be off but the 50 currently is rated at what, 324 miles of range per EPA? And the usable battery I think is 105.2, so that gives us about 3.08 mi/kWh. So 109.6 would bump range to 337-338 or so, so a little under 15mi of gain. Of course it may not be exactly linear so this is a loose estimate. I didn't expect a capacity change (at least I don't think, unless it's been mentioned here and I glossed over it) so it's welcome. No update to torque I agree is a bummer.

Color changes are modest. Was curious about Arctic Race Blue and just happened to walk by one. What are the odds.

Could the M Sport package include new Sport seats? I really hope so. It’s the worst aspect of the iX for us tall people.

One 21" style will be available on the M70. Also three 22" styles and one 23" style. Non-M will mostly keep the same wheels as now.

Not the 40->45 upgrade. The battery change is significant.

M Multifunction seats will be standard on M70 and optional on the other models.

Truly minimal changes (for the US market anyway). Going to make a lease end buyout more appealing, especially if lease costs go up because of the loss of the tax credit pass through (US markets).

Yeah but the 45 dosent apply to the U.S. market so for here at least. Pretty disappointing minor changes.

M Multifunction are those seats new or just the current Multifunctional seats? M Sport pro?
I guess no interior updates as you didn’t list any.
BMW has dine somer rather major LCIs recently, but on the iX it seems rather minor.

M Multifunction seats sound like an upgrade. Probably better side bolstering and the thigh extender.

I’d seriously consider upgrading for better seats with a thigh extender. Ever time I drive my husbands X5 45e I notice how much more comfortable those seats are.

There's a good chance it'll be offered.

Check other models like 5 series or X5/X6, they've had both multifunction and M multifunction seats for a long time, you'll see how they're different.

Great, that means there is at least one significant upgrade to the interior. Was hoping that would be the case when you mentioned ”M multifunctional seats”

I’m already dreaming of an M70 in Arctic Race Blue on smooth-riding 21”ers.

BMW really missed the mark not making the NACS port standard on the LCI.

Is this confirmed that it is not happening? I thought all the automakers, including BMW, were planning to move to native NACS ports starting in 2025. So, that would be the 2026 iX.

Putting in NACS seems to be delayed almost everywhere. I'd be shocked if the LCI had it.

The ix45 with 96kwh battery would be great. My ix40 has 77kwh tbh it should have come with 95 as 77 is just subpar.
