BMW IX Door Brake Failure
I got my IX a year ago. Few months after owning it the rear door brake came loose. Took it into service and they tightened it. The exact same door brake came loose again recently. I took it in today and the service advisor told me he sees this problem once or twice a day and it just happens if you use the door a lot and that he will tighten it again. Has anyone else experienced this same issue. I find it insane that there is no resolution to this problem. Do they really expect me to bring it in every year to get it tightened up?

My driver's door brake has loosened twice in the year that I have owned mine. I just re-tightened it. It is only secured by a single star-head bolt. Next time, I will probably use Loctite on it.

Its the little stick between the door and car body, by the hinges, that has the catches for the two positions that the door will hold open.

I miss the door check straps (brakes) that were on a 2014 7 Series I had - they stopped & held perfectly in any position.

Yeah, this was a 7 Series feature that started with the 2002 E65/66. I wonder if they still offer it on any models now? It was great.
