Chargepoint issue

I have an issue when charging on my home Charpoint charger where the i4 will begin charging immediately (which I have it set to) and then after about a minute, enters some made-up departure time and stops charging until there is just sufficient time to charge going right up to the departure time. I keep changing the i4 settings to charge immediately and they revert to some made-up departure time. I have changed out the Chargepoint charger unit and still have this issue. It does not seem to happen on Level 3 or even other Level 2 chargers. I have the latest software for the i4 per the dealer. Is anyone else experiencing something similar (and if so, is there a solution)?

I have seen several people have issues with Chargepoint chargers across different models/brands of cars. Not the majority, but more than a couple people. I stick to good, old dumb chargers and have no issues.

I just checked my settings. I have mine set to start at midnight and it will override the car settings. It does look like you can toggle off the setting so it will default to the car settings. Did you try to toggle that off?

Yes, I have tried toggling that off with no success. I like having the Chargepoint dictating the charge schedule as at home, I have peak and off-peak hours to charge (vs if I charge at a 3rd party charger when time of day does not matter).

I had a Genesis EV before the i4 and never had this issue with the Chargepoint charger.

Hmm. That's strange. Never had a problem with my i3 or my i4 now. Either call the BMW geniuses and/or Chargepoint.

I've had extensive calls with Chargepoint (replaced the unit) and BMW (went to dealer to have latest software installed) - neither have worked. I guess I just have to hope a future software upgrade to the i4 will fix it at this point.

Have seen this with OTHER applications where simultaneous (open) logins across multiple devices / browsers causes conflicts / confusion.

Try logging out and uninstalling both apps across all of your devices, as well as closing (and clearing) any online browser. There may be residual configuration setup somewhere that is overriding or conflicting with the one that you want to execute.

Thanks...have tried this with no luck. I think the issue is the BMW software in the car and how it communicates with ChargePoint data/software.

I have the ChargePoint Home Flex 16A-50A hard wired and a 2024 i4 eDrive35, both for a little more than a year now. Once I set the schedule up using the ChargePoint app a year ago (to work with our peak hours TOU) I have never had an issue with it starting the charge at the predetermined time window, regardless of when I plug the i4 in (and the i4 charging mode is 'Charge immediately').
