cracked headlamp advice needed

was driving on the freeway and a rock flew into my car and made a loud noise hitting the front... and after i parked i realized it had cracked the driver side headlamp casing. the lamp itself doesn't appear to be damaged and functions properly, looks like it just shattered the plastic exterior. since it's sunday and a long weekend dealer is closed and i was wondering if anyone knows if this gonna be a full lamp replace or just the plastic part?

i filed an insurance claim just in case, but they aren't getting back to me until tuesday and depending on the repair cost vs deductible maybe i will just pay out of pocket. any advice or recommendations on what to do is appreciated.

Any BMW dealer will tell you to just replace it.

Saving money will be to get one from a wrecked/part out car (ebay?)

The lens CAN be removed (but it's hard as crap, and may never seal properly).

If you got the cash, straight replacement is always best.

And when you do replace it consider putting paint protection film on the lenses to reduce the chances of it happening again.

Any g26 4 series should fit. Unfortunately the assembly is really expensive. On AliExpress you can buy the lens housing and then use your existing module and led with them. I think they want about 300 for a pair. They are likely OEM.

I wanted to replace my LEDs with the lasers since they don't swivel like previous gen bmw headlights but I found the aftermarket costs to be outrageous. Now that the car has been out for a few years you may have better luck at a junker or aftermarket....
