Used i4 - Ultimate Driving Experience
So I’ve been looking at this used i4 M50 and noted it was a “corporate fleet” vehicle and also noticed a number of service records in several different states within months of each other. Found an old schedule from the 2023 Ultimate Driving Experience roadshow and the service locations and dates align.
Car only has about 5k miles on it but I fear that those 5k miles are more like 50k. I will say I went to one of these events and it’s not an all day thrash like the “M days”, but rather a short circuit to try out the car. Should I walk away or still consider this car? Is there some way of looking up the battery health or charge cycles? Last edited by teknic90; 01-26-2025 at 05:17 PM.. |

If the price is right, I'd go for it. Most of the time, they're just several-mile test drives on assigned, boring routes, thrash-free. I'm sure it got floored a few times more than average in those 5k, but that's nothing.
I'd be more wary of a former M-school car. They'll need new radiators if they're from Thermal, as all the fins will be bent from sand, and they'll have overheated many times in that desert heat. The other M-school cars are probably fine, or at least less bad. |

Yeah, heard about those M-school M3s and 4s and to stay away from those. Makes more sense on those cars as they are likely bouncing those cars off redline all day which will prematurely wear out the ICE’s. |

Road wear is normal for any car.
Battery health reports are probably unnecessary unless the car is 5+ years old, which it obviously isn't. Also, there's warranty coverage. It's not a bad thing, but it costs money and is probably unnecessary. |

You can use eFlow app with a OBD2 adapter to get battery health related data. Note however all those are estimates, but it's something you can do yourself.

Pulled the trigger. Spoke with the sales rep and aparantly the car was NOT used for the event but rather for an exec at the events.
Very happy with the car. Bit of a change but I like it! |
