Charging at Tesla Super or Destination Stations?

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I could not quickly find an answer on this forum. I am buying a 2025 i4. Can I charge it (now) at Tesla charging stations? Google search says yes, in early 2025. Also, what adapter do I need?

thanks,

I’ve seen no recent announcement from BMW that they had the Tesla supercharger network opened up yet - Tesla needs to grant BMW access so that the cars can complete the handshake at the start of the charging cycle, regardless of whether you have an adapter.

I have a Tesla Connect charger in my home and it works fine with an adapter. It is my understanding that a Destination charger is also compatible with BMWs with a J1776 adapter.

a. as of today April 13th 2025 i4 can charge at Magic Dock enabled Tesla Super Chargers. You do not need any adapter as the adapter is built into the charger. However, these are far and few in between.

b. you can use Tesla destination charger and you will need a NACS to J1776 adapter [url]https://a2zevshop.com/products/a2z-stellar-plug[/url}

c. You should be able to charge at Tesla Super Charging stations starting sometime this year. As for adapters, most likely you'll need to buy a BMW supplied adapter in order to keep warranty, etc. This is what all the other manufacturers who currently have Tesla Super Charger access also require. However, technically there is no reason why other adapters from trustworthy manufacturers wouldn't work but YMMV.

Personally, I'm going to buy the BMW one but I also don't see myself using the Tesla network very much. I also carry a NACS to J1776 adapter as a just in case.
