My 2024 iX is no longer getting traffic info and the assistant says “no server connection” on the HUD. The BMW app is not up to date either.

I’ve restarted idrive by holding down the volume button for 70 seconds. That didn’t change anything.

Is anyone else experiencing this right now? I thought maybe BMW was having server issues but haven’t seen other posts about it.

Anything else to try?

This happens to me intermittently also and usually resolves within a day or two.

Half the time I try to use voice commands it tells me "function unavailable".

Still the same today. I suppose if it’s not working tomorrow I’ll have to call the dealer.

I wish there was a way in the car to see the network connection status and force a “reconnect” or reboot or something.

99% chance it’s a BMW server issue.

OK, maybe a 90% chance! 😎

I’d give it a few more days before ‘poking the bear’, dealership wise.

My X7 wouldn’t connect for the whole month of April. Then the monthly trip summary posted to the app at the start of May, it in fact collected all of April’s trips, and all the remote services are again working. No change to the iDrive version either.

I had random issue this morning where RTTI would not come in and online services seemed unavailable. Then later on my drive the navigation forgot where I was and put me around 400 feet off the road (happens a fair amount to me ). Rebooted system and everything seemed to be working again. If feels like being back in the Windows 95 days, if in doubt, reboot

My Waze was off by about the same amount last night, some 400ish feet, and was only updating like every mile as to my location and then remaining static til the next mile. The BMW native nav seemed to be able to locate me well though, so seems like it was specific to Waze rather than an issue with the vehicle GPS. Didn't try with Gmaps, suppose that could've told me if my problem was phone-specific or app-specific. Waze was working normally today.
