Brakes..."Disturbed?"

Has anyone gotten this? This is the 3rd time I’ve gotten this in the last 6 months. I just ignore it and it goes away in a few days. Functionally, nothing seems to be wrong. Auto hold works and braking power/regen is normal.

Wondering if anyone actually took it into the dealer to check on this and what they said? I’m out of warranty so if the car runs, I don’t care lol.

Disturbed? Something lost in translation there I think. Sorry this is happening to you, but I have never seen this nor have I heard anyone else mention it...

There’s no translation. That’s literally what BMW is telling me. I’ve had 7 BMWs and and this is my 3rd BMW EV so I’m just as confused as you are.

Someone at BMW somewhere took a word that made sense about brakes in German and wound up with "disturbed" in English, I guess. Keep us posted if something comes of it.

The brakes are disturbed because the tyres and wheels keep fighting each other

Perhaps BMW needs to add a section to the Owners Manual on applying brake therapy to soothe disturbed brakes.

There are a zillion things that could be going wrong that you can't see, hear, or feel. Take it in!

There are many things that can potentially be ignored safely, but a braking issue is not one of them! Given that your brakes are likely the most important aspect of any vehicle that has to work 100% of the time correctly, please get this seen to asap.

We all know that the brakes are rarely used in our cars, so it’s highly unlikely to be any appreciable wear on expensive items such as rotors; brake pads, etc.
