Test drove a 2026 iX....and it came home with me!

My 2025 iX50 was loaded, but did not have rear steering or air suspension. I really missed the air, even though the non-air with my 22" wheels was not bad at all.

The dealer had a few 2026 iX60 and a handful of iX45. Most were not richly optioned, but they did have lots of "fun" colours.

I traded my 2025 iX50 for a 2026 iX45 today, and I am really happy!

I got:

-Storm Bay Metallic
-Castanea Chestnut Leather
-Dynamic Pkg (Integral steering and air suspension)
-M Sport Pkg
-M Sport Professional Pkg
-Executive Pkg
-Climate Comfort Pkg
-M Sport Pkg Pro
-Ventilated Seats
-Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound

What kind of sealed the deal....the 23" Individual wheels and NO GLASS ROOF. Omg, finally...a solid roof. No hot glass, no worries about cracks and chips

The air suspension with the 23" wheels...butter smooth and it floats over road imperfections.

The new seats are amazing and such a big improvement. 22-25 seats are comfy, but now the 26 feels and looks like a BMW and there is better behind the knee support and the side boosters feel great!

Congrats! How much off MSRP were you able to get not counting the trade-in?

P. S. I think you meant to say "The dealer had a few 2026 iX60."

Congratulations. I have a ‘23 same color in and out. I got lucky and was able to get Air, 4ws and the BW radio as well as all the other options. I would love to get the new seats and didn’t know that it was possible to eliminate the glass roof. My prior X5 had better seats. Still any time I drive another car I find the ride harsh. I will never buy a car without air suspension now.

They had a 45 optioned that way just ‘on the lot?’

Amazing.

Congrats, by the way!

Congratulations deutsch100. I really like Storm Bay as a colour. Hoping to emulate your move in the months ahead with an upgrade.

Yeah, I corrected it. Lots of heavy discounts on remaining 2025 models, but at least in AZ...not heavy 2026 discounts.

MSRP on my heavily optioned 45 was $99,100. Right off the bat, $7500 lease credit and the dealer contributed another $4000. So not amazing, but not bad at all for a "new" model.

The 2026 iX60 & iX45 and even remaining 2025 iX 50 and M60 they had...not a single one with leather and 99% with no air suspension or rear steering.

I did not think I would want the 45 model, but NO glass roof and having M70 options made it the perfect choice for me.

2026 iX60 and M70....cannot delete the glass roof. This is what made me choose the 45.

I liked the way my 2025 iX 50 with 22" wheels felt over speed bumps and when going slow....but the air suspension when driving is such an awesome thing to have!

Either someone ordered it and changed their mind, or a now fired employee ordered it for the dealer

My east coast broker is offering 13% off MSRP on a 2026 iX 45 with a $899 broker fee.

P. S. I assume you mean $7,500 lease credit as iX doesn’t qualify for the federal EV tax credit (rebate).

I am seeing some oddball configurations on the ‘available now’ section of bmwusa. I’m actually going to see a tanzanite blue 45 on the lot at a dealer in socal this morning

What is exactly is a 45 compared with a 50? Smaller battery/less power?

Congratulations on your new car. Looks great. I'm really happy with my xDrive60 too and agree with the assessment of the Dynamic Handling Package and the seats. About to take mine on a trip to the ocean today to check the range improvement; 260 miles round trip. Again, congrats.

  • Less expensive
  • Fewer standard features
  • Lower torque
  • Smaller battery
  • Slower acceleration

100 kWh battery in the iX45 instead of about 113 kWh in the iX60.

2026 iX45 has more range than the M70, even though M70 battery is larger.

iX45 has 402 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Yes - my apologies…. I’m new to this forum and posted in the wrong location. Apparently I need to have more ‘verified posts’ and wait 7 days for my account to be updated before I can use the DM feature.

1000% Seriously, remember when BMWs had 250-300hp, and we thought that was insane! 400hp in daily driving with my new iX45, feels to me no different than my iX50.

Also, let's not forget...the 2026 iX45 has almost 520 lb ft torque!! You need torque to get a car moving. Torque helps it accelerate from zero to 60 mph in a flash.
