Perfect fitting iX front windshield sunscreen

I cannot find the one I used in my 22, 23 and 25 iX.
This one fits even better, and feels very similar to the rigid ones BMW makes for all models, except the iX :/

Ditto- I bought the same brand (Pigenius) that deutsch100 just mentioned, though it cost me $60 a few months ago &#128512. Fits/works very well. Read specs to make sure you order one that works for you.

CoverCraft offers several that fit very well:

https://www.covercraft.com/shop/2024-bmw-ix/sunscreens

I have one, but honestly I've never had occasion to use it because the solar heat rejection of the windshield is so good (average summer temps here below 100F). If I lived in the southwest and parked outside a lot, probably (it's a big leather dash).

Would prefer a solution for the side windows. That's where all the heat is coming from, not the windshield. I've found heat-rejecting tints to be somewhat useless and mostly marketing fluff.

High-end ceramic tints have heat rejection similar to the metallic layer in the windshield. It's pretty freaking easy to measure and has been objectively measured many times over.

Lower- and mid-grade tints that only use pigmentation for tinting have almost no heat rejection. That may be your prior experience.

I have my front side windows tinted to 20% with a high quality film. When I had my iX in for its first required service I was given a ‘23 M60 as a loaner that didn’t have any tint on those windows. The amount of heat transference coming through to my left side was orders of magnitude higher than in my car.

For those of you in extreme heat areas, I’d highly recommend getting the front windows ‘tinted’. 15% would be almost a perfect match to the rear btw.

I've used covercraft on my prior car and it worked pretty well. Haven't found a need for a windshield protector with this car though.

My 3M high performance ceramic tint (20%) makes a HUGE difference on front and rear side windows. I feel almost no heat coming in.

When I took delivery of my new '26 iX it was about 100F in Phoenix. I felt my skin and face physically burning from the side glass and heat.

Fast forward a week later with 20% nano ceramic tint....cool as a cucumber on the side glass

Summer temps are finally starting this weekend so the real stress test will be happening soon!

Yup. And even with just 100F when I took delivery and yesterday when grocery shopping....the solid, insulated no pano glass roof is AMAZING!!!

No glass roof, IR windshield, nano ceramic side and rear window tint....my iX is the perfect Arizona car

For me even in 118F the glass roof hasn't let me down! If anything metal would just be easier to keep clean, but in either case it's awesome to just be able to get in the car and go, and not fidget with a sunshade.

The pano roof doesn't cause me any heat stress, but it does cause chip stress!

Chip and crack stress, OMG. Awful worrying about it.

I did several tests with a thermal gun, checking glass pano roof outside and inside temps and then measured the temps with a solid, non glass roof.

Outside ambient temps ranging from 80-100F.

Glass roof inside and out after being parked in the sun was anywhere from 120-140F.

Solid roof, no pano glass....20-50 degrees cooler!

Until I bought the iX, my only experience with glass roofs was in my Tesla. And that was relatively cheap to replace w/ glass coverage. Not so with the iX! If I had to do it all over again, I'd get a solid roof if it were available. Not because of heat, which I don't notice, but because of the $15k+ cost to replace. For insurance purposes, it's like having an accident. The novelty of the glass roof ended with the iX.

I like having the glass roof (measured this weekend in 106 to be about 119F, which to me is very good for a full glass panel); I just wish it at least vented if not fully opened. For me the venting is nice for the pressure equalization when the windows are down. I like the brightness of the cabin in winter, and although I don't know that I prefer the opacity changing in lieu of just a sliding cover, for me it makes no difference in summer since I almost always precondition (and when I do forget, the cabin is still very usable. Prior cars you'd genuinely need oven mitts or take great care in touching surfaces.)

So far, no chips, knock on wood.
