![]() Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Absolutely amazing collection on show including Alpina bringing over some of their collection to the USA. And of course, lots of lovely machines in the car park too. ![]() The exhibit is open until January 2026. Hopefully I will try and make it out myself this year. great video, watched it about a week ago. I'm about 2 hours away from Spartanburg, definitely plan on taking a road trip in the B7 up there while this exhibit is open. Most of those cars are incredibly rare, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these things in person unless you plan on making the trek out to Buchloe.

I’ll add some details & pics on Mark’s lovingly-restored gorgeous 1974 Alpina Grp. 2 race car, seen in the vid and at the exhibit.
•Those are uber-rare 15” Alpina wheels, not the typical 13s. 11x15 F, 13x15 R (!) •That is a Schnitzer 20-4 head DOHC 4-valve KF-injection M10 motor which predated BMW’s own S14. This variant output 275hp @9000rpm. •It was the last race 2002 built/run by Alpina and was known to be one of Burkhard’s favorites due to having so much custom tech included on it. Just one of the many unique engineering bits: “The differential drove the alternator off of a pully on the front part of the diff and also had an Alpina mini pump mounted to it on the side that had a drive off of the axles.” What an amazing time capsule. Congrats and thanks for sharing it with everyone, Mark! |

Alpina engineering depth was so obvious that BMW acquired Alpina in early 2022.
Full announcement at https://www.alpina-automobiles.com/e...s/alpina-news/ 57 years of partnership with BMW - an incredible measure of success by any standard. |
