New Meets Old!

Welcome to the wonders of a 17 year old car guys mind at 3:00am.
Im here to ask a question that I think people in these forums have the answer to that people from my side of BMW research dosen’t.
I am on the hunt for my families 1986 BMW 528e that my grandfather bought brand new in 1986 at Century BMW in Greenville SC.
To sum up why im asking about it here, my mom had an E34 which I found was crushed and I have a few friends with BMWs and seeing as im a classics fan would LOVE to own one BMW in particular and its the one I grew up listening to stories about from my dad and uncle. In looking for the car with the VIN I found out about the mdecoder stuff and bimmerworks vin decoder which decodes 17 digit vins (this being a 1986 im in the right place). Upon decoding the vin I got some weird data.

The wrong data was that
-The Car was built in Spartanburg SC(was built in Dingolfing)
-The Interior was 0170 Pearl Beige Cloth (was 0206 Pearl Beige Leather)

The options were somewhat right. But those guys in the mye28 forum were doing some cross reference work to figure out where the codes are becoming inconsistent across systems. Because, on a spec by spec identical 528e that went up for sale on BaT all of the misinformation on our SC car built two years prior was also on the decode for that car (interior, prod plant and some weird codes)

So im here to ask about those weird codes: the codes we think we figured our were:
Option 1 (209) 25% Limited Slip Differential (I verified the car had it with my uncle, I only mention it here because its neat that the 528e had it)
Option 2. (458) Front Driver/Passenger Electric Seat Adjustment (The other neat one)
Option 3. (551) Bordcomputer II (They all had these)

The other options were:
Option 769 "Individual Series 96 For Japan" (why is it Japan... its a US market car with nothing to do with Japan in a known normal combination... I don't understand this option and what it means and google nor ChatGPT can come up with anything about it or what the 96 means. And as for the Individual Series part, im not sure.)
Option 908 "Spoc"
Option 946 "Consideration of Price Dependency"
Option 989 "Abgrenzung Modellueberarbeitun" (Translates to "Demarcation Model Revision")

The suggestions I got were that

-769 wasnt in the old list but the new code is for individual series but im not sure what Series 96 Japan meant
-908 wasnt on the old list but the new listing says its a diagnostic box (which never came on those old BMWs) but its listed as SPOC
-989 wasn’t on the old list but 979 was velour floor mats which our car had. (But why was this also a discrepancy on the other cars with velour floor mats?) The new decodes say that 989 means Demarkation Model Revision but thats code 320 on the old list (German translator said this reffers to a badge delete but it cant be because our car didn't have a badge delete or code 320)
-Code 946 was in the decodes but also wasnt on the old list. We were thinking that because it means “price adjustment for leather” it is referring to the leather interior in the car (could this have to do with the missread of 0170 instead of 0206?)

If ANYONE can help with the new decodes to the old ones and why they are or aren’t appearing on the old decode and what they mean (I still wanna know what it means by “Individual Series 96 Japan” and why some codes now exist etc.) please let me know.

If you wanna see the decodes for yourself, or know of the cars whereabouts, it was a 1986 528e in Dolphin Grey Met. Paint over Pearl Beige Leather and it was an Automatic. VIN# WBADK8308G9659419

The mye28 forum page with the initial research is here: https://forums.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=162391

Yeah, im talking about a classic looking for modern info, but modern problems require modern solutions eh?

Thanks for any help, take care.
