03/2025.50 update -Iphone often fails to connect -
Since the update, my iPhone does not automatically connect about half the time. Sometimes it will connect after driving for a couple of minutes. Most times I have to re-connect from scratch. I've tried rebooting the iDrive system and fully removing the phone and re-adding. Nothing helps.
Any suggestions? Has this happened to any of you all? |

I use iPhone/CarPlay and have the same update version and I have not had this issue (or the trunk release button issue), FWIW. Sorry to hear you do!

This has happened since day 1 in my M2 & I haven't done any updates. Sometimes it connects automatically & starts playing music, sometimes connects but no music, connects w/music but steering wheel buttons don't work ("no source found"), doesn't connect at all, but phone shows it's connected
![]() Resetting iDrive works sometimes, toggling off wifi & bluetooth on my phone works sometimes. On my wife's '22 X3MC with iDrive 7, we both have profiles set & assigned to different fobs. Almost always if I'm driving with my fob, it'll automatically connect to her phone when she's in the car. It'll also connect to her phone that is inside the house until I'm a block down the street. If she's driving using her fob, it'll connect to my phone if I'm in the car. This is really the only gripe I have about either vehicle. And there doesn't seem to be a solution.

I had the opposite problem before the recent update allowed to disable comfort access at "home." If I was in the garage for a while (doing something other than getting in the car), car play would start playing my podcast wherever I left off even though I wasn't in the car and wasn't listening. So next time I actually went to drive, I'd have to back up 2 minutes.
