radio recieving sucks, am i the only one?

so, i dont have the "shark" antenna.

but i think i would be able to recieve a good signal anyways, atleast when the car is outdoor.

sound quality is very bad, sound goes up and down and it sounds like a really bad signal. i went in to the settings options and everythign there seems normal.

i only have one channel working good...

and when i search channels auto i only find one, and when i wirte it down manually i get sparkling sounds and the reception is very bad.

help me out please

The radio antenna is not in the shark fin, its built into the rear windshield defroster.

I dont always get get clear reception where I live in north jersey. However in Philly I get crystal clear reception but that's because I'm close to all the broadcasting stations. I don't really listen to mainstream music much so I don't use the radio too much...mostly sirrus and my iPod or CDs. Is your reception always bad? Is this a new problem or has it always existed? Do you have any aftermarket accessories installed? Aftermarket amp? Your power wire maybe crossing the antenae and be causing interference?
