No Audio, CC codes displayed
I was driving to work this morning and my radio stopped playing. Visually, the Radio appears fine, I can still cycle everything and it responds as it should, but there is no audio. At the same time, the car is throwing CC codes 350, 351, and 354. There is no noticeable difference in the car's performance despite these all being trac/stability codes. Then everything fixed itself when I went out to lunch, and then the same thing happened again on my way back.
My first thought was blown amp, but then it started working for a bit and is throwing those codes, so now I don't know what it is. I have a time setup with for a dealer to look at it tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced anything along these lines? |

What year is your car ? Ever had the battery replaced
What year is your car ? Ever had the battery replaced?
I would check your battery as a starting point as the IBS system can turn stuff off if the battery is low . Not saying that's what it is but you should check the battery as a starting point. Most only get 6 years out of the factory battery if they do some highway driving and the car gets used regularly . If you have real short drives or the car sits for extended periods the battery never gets charged. And these cars always use the battery even when parked. http://www.bawarec.ru/manuals/3er/e9...3er-e90-12.pdf read about the ibs in the above link. Try putting a slow charge on the battery see if this stuff goes away. Most dealers will charge you a lot for a battery change so you might investigate doing it for yourself or at an Indy if that's what it is. |

2007. Dealer did the battery last year, so that was not really a consideration. The car gets driven over 100 miles/day as my work commute is a little over 40 miles each way. Good news is that with it only being a year old, that should fall under a warranty of some sort. Last fall I had a bad windshield replacement that let water into the cabin through the cabin air intake that resulted in the body control module and fuse box having to be replaced. The new BCM blew the amp and radio causing them to also be replaced when it was fired up and reprogrammed, so those are all less than a year old. After that, the fuse box and battery cables were all replaced under a recall. With all of the new dealer installed electronics, I am kinda baffled to be having electronic problems again so soon... |
