Omitting rear speakers from the system
I'm wondering if anyone has ever bridged the four channels for just the front 2 components. I'm planning on upgrading with morel hybrids and thought they could use the extra power. My question is, do people notice a large difference without the rear speakers? I was planning on turning the gain nearly off on them anyways once the amp was in...thoughts?

are a communist plot. I think BMW325i did the bridging for Morels with good results. And Morels are kind of power hungry. You can't run any gain on the rear Hi Fi speaker with an amp that has any power if they are the 2 ohm hi fi speakers. |

I have a front soundstage only, using the rear signal from the HU to feed my four channel amp (2 channels for left and right 6.5" speaker pods and 2 channels for the door component systems).
I do still use the rear stock speakers fed by the front HU signal so I can hear the warning chimes and cell phone. For music, I dont think the rear channel is necessary at all. I dont want to hear sound coming from behind me. The subwoofer is there because there is no room in front of me for it and directionality is not so important for low frequencies. Now, if I frequently had passengers in the rear, is might make more sense to have a rear channel.

I have the Morels and Jehnerts. The front speakers and underseats are powered by a xd600/6. I used to have the Morels bridged and I was very happy with the sound, but 2 channels went out on the amp.
I plan on replacing it with an Apline pdx f6 which does 150 watts x 4 channels at 2 or 4 ohms. I wouldn't mind having a set of rear speakers. |

if you like rear speaker, odds are you voted for obama and would wipe Castro's ass if given the chance.

Thanks for the input guys. How would this be done with technics harness? Positive right front in and negative left front only? Would I lose the warning chimes and cell phone usage?

Yeah no rears for me either. Running Jehnerts and cdt off of the xd/600/6. I have the Jehnerts bridged. Like a couple of the other guys said you shouldn't need the rears for music. Kills the soundstage IMHO.
