As expected, an edgy sharp cornered morph of the M1/i8, w future kidneys. Not in my plans as it lacks a rear seat.

Get the 0-100kph / 0-60mph in the sub- 3 sec range and it will be recognized as an 'exotic' a la Ferrari, Lambo, Tesla(?).

Just a concept, so the end car won't look quite so radical (ugly). What concerns me more is the weight. This is HEAVY!
And if it loses rear seats, then it's competing with supercars. In which case it sounds like the performance won't be quite good enough (in 3 years' time). But let's wait and see. If it undercuts the competition, then it has a chance. I'm interested, but also struggling to see how it's better than the competition. And that is what made me buy the original i8 on release. |

A few years away and it may be better looking in the flesh- although the original i8 concept looked much better to me.
Are they going to make a 2020 current gen i8? |

Agree re: weight. I have long been hoping for a 1000 Kilo Z2M. That would be a fun car.
Not many options to reduce weight on i8. Titanium exhaust, racing seats, BBS Fi-R rims.

Overall just far too heavy. I hoped for 1500kg. But the final car may well be better, as in indeed the i8 was much better than the concept. |

Interesting article... suggests that if they do build it, it will be mass produced and won't hold its value (just as the i8 has been). |

BMW need to learn to create a limited numbers halo car. Or no sale. I absolutely love my i8, but once bitten twice shy. |
