i4 40e lowered with spacers

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Ben r33_RGSport was kind enough to help me figure out a setup that works.

He adjusted the links in the rear to match the MSS spring in the front and also added H&R spacers 12/18. The car is not slammed to retain the factory comfort level, but it feels more planted and it takes freeway onramps at 6-8mph faster than before. The phone pictures do not do it justice, but in person the stance is night and day from before. Highly recommended to reach out to Ben for your parts and labor.

Looks awesome.

Something I have thought about however I value the height when parking and being able to not scrape the bumper. Your pictures are moving me more in the direction to do it.

Looking good, but never heard of lowering a car increasing speed on an on ramp lol.

It became a bit more daring after lowering and spacers.

It's not a drastic drop. The main reason is that the floor of the i4 appears to be sitting lower due to the protective materials of the battery. Also I was not looking for a slammed look, just improved optics and handling.

I already have a hard time going up my fairly normal driveway and not scraping.

I really want to lower my m50 for looks alone but hesitate because despite the large fender gap, the car does sit kinda low already. By that I mean the bottom of the bumper scrapes pretty easily as others have noted. Also, I really like the ride as is stock and don’t want to mess it up and start riding bump stops. Anyone know if these cars have limited travel like the f30’s did before the bump stops engage ?

Well the rears won't have bumstops since it's air suspension. On my m50 the ride is like oem+. No one would suspect the car was lowered unless another m50 was next to it.

Did you go H&R or Eibach?

It is actually MSS spring. It was a typo by the OP.
2nd one that I've done.

Here is picture of the first one.

Love that look, how close to the asphalt is that certain little bulb beneath the car after being lowered? Man loving the lowered i4 look just as how it should have been from factory !!

I love the look.

I think you most probably will be fine daily driving it. You dont need to fit snow chains, for example (one reason for bigger fender gap BMW, and many other euro makers have).

Do not understand why car companies dont understand that fender gap is quite the thing we dont like on sportier cars. They even produce a lower car (look at Hurracan, 488 Pista, etc) - but fender gap is still huge.
