Either way, these two are definitely an improvement on the Mitsubushi/Lincoln clone VDE BMW showcased at the Shanghai auto show last month!

The iX3 looks significantly longer compared to today's model. Or perhaps it's lower that's giving it this illusion?

With the VDX being a "close look at what to expect from the Neue Klasse vehicles" (their words) I kind of expected the i3 to be more compact than this as well.

It's all hard to tell. The (pretty rad) camouflage is making it difficult to proper assess what's going on with size and design. Whatever! Still looking forward to that i3 and the rest of the Neue Klasse vehicles (i4 coupe especially!).

Agreed. It looks so long. Why is the D pillar gigantic? Do we love blind spots now too?

Looking at the spy photos the car appears to be shorter than this time, but maybe just different angles? Anyway hope it’s better looking than G45, both interior and exterior.

Man, I loved that car! Leased one back in the day for $280/month after EV rebate. Work round trip of 30 miles, and never had to use a public charger.
My daughter totaled it, or I would probably have bought it when the lease expired.

It’s not a bad idea to buy M3, M5, and X6M at the same time and rotate them between daily driving commitments. There won’t be any time to debate the alleged brand erosion or for that matter anything else. The lucky driver will be fighting the urge to smile all the time.

Agree, i3 definitely looks smaller than the G20 which is a good thing. Proportions look really good. iX3 looks more wagon-esque than SUV. So far, I'm liking what I see.

I’m sure it will have a thousand cameras instead of mirrors to cover the blind spots but yeah, it does look odd

Electric is exciting and fast. But it should never have been propped up as an environmental cause. We all know that. The real loser in this was Mercedes. I think the EQ line is a true huge loser in all of this. BMW took smaller chances using one platform. Ix is bespoke but that’s about it.

Electric companies are failing left and right. The demand isn’t there yet.

Here come the theatrics and drama lol.

Anyways, I wouldn't actually mind if the iX3 is somewhat large. I do love the wagonesque nature of it and hope that persists when the camo comes off.

I can't wait to welcome the new EV generation. in contrast with many 'real' bimmer fans here, I can state that daily driving my i4 is a stellar experience second to none! This new generation will again bring significant improvements for efficiency and driving dynamics. Let it come!

I have one, and I love it and will not let it go. Fun to drive and a perfect daily car for around the city. Carbon everywhere including exposed roof.
The design has aged extremely well, still looks modern and could have been released today.
Imagine if there would have been a i3M, four wheel drive, 350 hp

I'm sure the weight won't really be an issue in everyday driving, where the instant torque filled powerband is usable everywhere, with its superior traction control. And the fact that it will probably beat every previous M3 on a road course is just icing on the cake.

Styling is ass on a stick. I’ve loved BMW for decades. Currently on my 16th vehicle. Survived the Bangle era. This too shall pass.
