i4 M50: Impressed with the smoothness

Hi!

After months of overthinking I finally received my M50 about two months ago.

One thing that made me hesitate, even after a test drive, was wondering if the M50 was "too fast", if it would be too harsh, if it would be comfortable for passengers with all that instant acceleration etc. I of course was wondering about all that because of things I read on the forums and elsewhere on the web.

After two months of ownership, let me say that when driven in everyday traffic, this car is SMOOTH. When used in Comfort mode, it is a very nice and relaxing drive for both the driver and the passengers.

I wanted to leave a trace of this here if other customers are wondering if this car is for them. Yes, the car is a beast if you want it to be, but it's also a smooth operator for daily driving.

I love it.

P.S. I considered an i5 or 550e very seriously and of course these are even more comfortable. But I'm not disappointed in the i4 on that front :-)

100% agree and glad I paid a lot more for my M50 than the eDrive 40 I was originally considering. Worth the $10k ish extra
I drive a decent amount around Phoenix freeways and done 12,000 miles in 12 months and amazingly comfortable in Comfort mode (I have std 19"), more so than my wife's X5 45e that has RF tires on 21".
(note this does have adaptive suspension pack as std which is option on other models)

Definitely get the DAPP for less stressful driving and avoid the apparently harsher optional 20" wheels.

Oh, and take all 3 rear headrest out to improve your rear view as not needed even if you squeeze someone in the back as seat back is quite high

If the 20s are harsh the 18/19 must be like a cloud!!!

Previous was a g21 m340 on 19s, and the m50 on the 20s os miles softer around town with the same rubber

They really are not intrusive. Sometimes I notice them when getting out of or into the car, but never when I'm driving.

Almost any bump the 20s will crash over, 18s would crash over too.
