ynguldyn it sounds like surveys are being conducted to understand what the new 8 should look like. Any insight on this from your side?

G60 LCI is delayed from 03/27 to 07/27
Could this actually be 07/26 meaning that they bring it forward?

The test mules have been on the road testing since January, way earlier than normal.

I'm not seeing any hybrid powertrains that would be different from what's already out there.

But remember that I have an approximately 2 year window on this.

Any word on G97 X3M? I feel like we haven’t even seen spy shots of that car, was very much looking forward to it as the ultimate daily driver.

If the G60 LCI is pushed back, would that also imply that the G90/G99 LCI is pushed? I'd imagine those might come even later?

Recent history has M car LCI announcement and production line up with the series models. So unless they are taking the M5 in a new direction expect them to be timed up pretty close.

Thanks ynguldyn for this super interesting thread. Has anything become known about the ZA5 iX3M? Is it coming before 2028? Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Do you think we will see Parking Assistant Plus and Driving Assistant Professional in the G87 in the upcoming years?

Probably not. It's a lot of boring tech talk, so I'm not going to get into it here, but considering the way these systems are engineered, and the level of technological/engineering/design changes that would be required to make such a change, BMW is probably not going to make those changes on the G87; especially not now that we're into LCI territory.

Would put money on it being a next-gen thing if it does happen. That said, I'd say parking assistant plus would be more likely to show up than Drive Assist Pro, purely because of the relative price point of the M2. BMW is usually very careful to not cannibalize their product lineups with equipment offerings, so it's not a far cry to expect the M2 to always be a peg down from the 3er/M3 in terms of tech, the same way the X1/X2 are going to be a peg down from the X3.

1s and 2s (UKL models) are 'entry-level'/conquest models designed to pull customers up from more economy-level brands and introduce them to the BMW ecosystem (this makes the lack of an iDrive controller in the X1/X2 make more sense, since economy brands don't typically have an iDrive-style controller), that said, the M2 is still technically an entry-level M car, and will likely always be treated as such by BMW (despite its E46-like proportions that make it a purist's modern favorite)

If the MY2026 G87 has 360 cameras I'd for sure cancel my order and wait.
