I had that car. The seats were the most basic pieces of Japanese manufacturing. But I agree they were not that uncomfortable but I wouldn't rate them as amazing. I don't find the seats in the X3/M comfortable, I thought the were hard as cardboard!

Gotta see a doctor in the AM and then free all day. Might go check out some cars just for fun. I did see an iX parked at the golf course today. Looked very nice. |

i think it's clear Stellantis had a complete moron for a CEO and they should have canned him years ago. It was like he had never met an American and thought he could just force us to buy the Euro centric models he thought would be best for the bottom line. And he had some weird beef with V8s. Probably lost his girl to a guy with a V8 years ago.

I think Honda sells the their twin specifically to placate people that would never be caught dead in a Chevy. Don't even tell her it's a rebadged Blazer!

Visited a few dealers today just for a look.
Cadillac has a full range of EVs. If I thought the wife unit could park an Escalade this discussion would be over. Alas too much vehicle for her. And the Vistiq is a bit larger than we need but a very nice car and competitively priced. Interior is also very nice. Hyundai Ionic 9 hits all the buttons. Right size. Features. Great warranty. Tow issues for me. One is it isn't really priced any lower than say the Caddy or BMW. And it is ugly. I know beauty is in the eye and all that but it's as plain as a Tesla which I also don't like. Acura only has a smaller unit no go. BMW was an interesting visit. I like how they look and they have all the right features. BTW they all come with an air suspension to handle the extra weight per the sales rep. What is interesting is the interior. Not a huge fan of the layout but the materials for the seats - the micro fiber is better than the leather IMO. Looks and comfort. But when I add it all up NONE of them had an interior as nice as my 2021 X5 with the leather upgrade package, I'm thinking I might wait a bit. Sales rep said in a few years BMW will come out with an all electric X5 and end the iX. Maybe the interiors will also improve. Since we drive 8000 miles a year it isn't as if we'll save a ton on gas to make it a good financial decision, |

Have you seen the leaks of the newer trucks? The Neu Klass interiors look like cheap crap.
EVa get cheap interior 9/10 times. They push these cheap interior as "modern". The automakers all saw Tesla throwin a cheap interior and call.it modern and minimalist and make huge margin and they wanted in .so now we can't have nice things. Did you look at Genesis gv60 or GV70 or GV80? Those might tickle your pickle so to speak. |

Took the missus with yesterday and looked at a few with her.
Mercedes EQE SUV is by far the nicest interior. But the one I saw was an AMG model for $121,000. Mmmm no. In the realistic range of pricing for a car (i.e. transportation not signalling some kind of statement) the winners were Cadillac and Hyundai. For her. Shocked she liked the Hyundai. The Lyriq is a nicely sized car with a quality interior and reasonable price in todays EV range. A nicely configured Lyric which is about the same size as an X5 can be had for $65K. And my impression is deals can be had. For ME the Cadillac was the winner when price package is factored. Shocking to me the Ionic 9 Calligraphy model is about $78K. Salesguy mentioned something about a $12.5K credit or whatever. It seems the credits etc, are all over the map with EVs. Regarding the iX wife unit (who is a BMW bigot) was very disappointed. As am I. It is a serious no go based on the interior. My 2021 X5 with upgraded interior is far superior to the iX. Thinking this was all an exercise for fun as nothing I've seen has me tempted to buy a new car. Thinking the 2021 with 32K miles might have a few years left. ![]() |
