I got another loaner yesterday, since the dealer could not fix the 11/2024 OTA shit show.
i4. I activated SYNC yesterday, and today and through multiple drives… SYNC is still active. That BMW is still trying to say it is a feature with SYNC deactivation for the iX and i7…lies. X1 and i4… SYNC stays active, as has every other BMW in the past. |

The problem is in the rear A/C module. If the i4 has no rear seats A/C control, it should be fine.

Yeah that would track, I don't think the X1 has that either.

Driver, Passenger and rear seat A/C controls in this i4....SYNC stays on, between drives, overnight, etc... The iX and i7....software BUG, and BMW is too stubborn and arrogant to fix it. I mean it is very obvious they can change SYNC operation and behavior with software ![]() |

BMW adds nothing to my 8.0 car, but chooses to mess up something that was working fine. This is why I'm never applying another software update. EVER! Fool me twice...

But also I was under the impression on the i4 it was temperature-only control in the back, not blower. So wonder if the sync issue is only on cars with "true" 3 or 4-zone climate control. But I definitely could be wrong.

Did you put in a special order for 4-zone climate? Prior to the 2026 model year that was the only way to get it in the US. Now it is a more generally available option for 2026 and can be added in the configurator (this wasn't the case before).

Nope got a loaded one off the lot a few months ago (I never bother to order cars). Maybe a special order model that backed out? I had no idea lol

Yes, must've been a special order that someone specifically wanted with the four zone climate which, at the time, would've required BMWNA approval.

My car is also on 2024/11 software version, and i noticed something really particular regarding the SYNC function with mine. My SYNC function also deactivates as described, but even when deactivated my passenger temparature gets synced when i change the driver side temperature. So when i change driver side from 21 degrees to 20 degrees the passenger temparature is also changed to 20 degrees. Even when SYNC is off. This happens at least when there is no passenger in the car. I did not test it with a passenger on the right seat.
It does not seem to SYNC the climate in the back though (when SYNC) is deactivated, as this always stays at a annoying 22 degrees when SYNC is switched off. |
