I think the November update fixed the delay mostly? I am not sure as I could not get Nov update to install. I have the delay most mornings or any time the car has been off for an extended period of time.

Yeah this was my issue. Coming out of work or some place that I'd been for a few hours and it would delay when opening. Again, not a huge issue but in like a downpour it's not the most fun.

But I turned auto unlock back on before the november update so if it fixed it then I'd consider switching back - however seems this march update will let me just leave auto unlock on anyhow.

Good stuff.
I got this update and tried to make use of this but sadly, I live in a compound and the home address cannot be set exactly to my exact location.
Seems like the only way to set an address for home is to search on the map.

Anyone knows if we can save the existing car location as home?
I can save current location from map as favorites, but not home or work.

If the car would unlock instantaneously every time as my hand began passing through the door cutout, then that would be different. Suppose I'm just used to "keyless entry" being instant when your hand touches the handle. (Which, it does - just not all the time)
That seems to have been fixed in 11/2024.xx

Got the notification today for the iX50 - MY22 for 03/2025.47. Installed without issue - objectively, the install says it updated Spotify and the Weather app. Nothing visibly changed, except a few personal settings that had to be restored.
Nothing changed in My Modes - no option to set Efficient as default. No option to set geographic location for Comfort Settings. It made Gesture Control unusable (at least in my car) - if you have the two gestures (two-finger or open palm) set for anything, they will randomly and continually activate/deactivate as you use the iDrive controller or just get near the screen, so I turned it off (reboot did not resolve). Subjectively, the display and functions seem faster. The app now includes "Lock & reduce alarm" and "Trunk" functions in Remote functions. Other than that, no obvious changes. Essentially it added nothing I want, and took away Gesture Control.

That's cool that they finally included "Exclude Home" for the Auto-Unlock feature, but I wish they would have also extended that to Auto-Lock.

It'd be a QOL improvement to not have to grab the handle to plug it in.

I got no notification on my iPhone and in car (iDrive) has none either, but when I opened my app today to pre-climate....it says I have this Software Update available, but it takes me 15-30 mins of driving to download, and did not need to go anywhere else, so I did not initiate it.

Also, after last OTA and the insufficient battery snafu and 3 days at the dealership, I am nervous about this one!

I received notification that 03.2025.47 was available via the app. Downloaded to iPhone and then uploaded to the car without difficulty. Went through the “preparing update” as usual. Then “STARTER BATTERY TOO LOW…”
Arrrrgh. I thought surely that bug would have been fixed by now.

The last update resulted in a ~3 week stay in the shop to deal with the low voltage /wiring harness issue. This one was…totally unremarkable.

Like someone else noted, you can now geofence the home address to prevent unwanted walk-up UNlocking, but inexplicably you can’t restrict it from locking when you walk away at home.

When they install a toilet, I prefer that they include both water supply AND drainage!!

Do you have a radar detector / anything plugged into 12v? Turned out that my radar detector was keeping the vehicle from sleeping which caused my low voltage no update condition. I hadn’t gotten any other messages about drain when the car was off, it was only the update that wouldn’t install. I started unplugging the radar each time I get out of the car, and am checking to see if it’ll do 03/2025…

O M F G!!!! This was me with the OTA a few months ago (11/2024). BMW has not fixed it yet?

From what I was told and have seen, only the dealer now can fix this. So sorry. So mad!!!

I received today…still have the starter battery issue. Seems like BMW might want to hire some UI engineers from Tesla. Insane I need to go to a dealership to fix a software glitch. Really??

Thanks for the warnings, guys.

I never installed 11/24 due to the potential battery issue. The app and car have been bugging me for a while to install it. I refrained. I just looked at the app and it says "software update no longer available." So, I guess 11/24 was purged in preparation for the next buggy update, 3/25. I learned from 7 years with Tesla not to install updates unless there's a significant improvemnt or new feature.

Typing this on my Windows 7 computer (joke).

Ugh, all the other parts were there in the update EXCEPT the one I was looking forward to was setting My Mode to Efficient as default start up and nothing was there...

Your comment resonates with me. Off subject…Yesterday I finally decommissioned a Windows 7 computer that had been sitting at home unused for five years. Technology has come a long ways in 15 years…. Took me two hours to purge the hard drive…because of the clunky nature of the operating system.

Mine updated after I had the low voltage battery issue before, I do have unlock exclusion at home, it did not fix the sync / rear climate reset.
